Water shouldn't make any difference, being her suit water proof. But an ice shard at high speeds... why not?

Also, Lava would give her damage
everywhere, her suit thrusters would be the least of the problems because she would be too busy dying
Other M could have gotten away with all of it's huge load of crap, but taking away the :s-grav: from a game with such orgasmic graphics was too much.

By your logic, a shard in the thruster causes malfunctions, then why wouldn't the suit malfunction when engulfed by lava?

Hmmm... I see your point.

Theory time:
Since the lava is a full covering body damage (Not to mention a screaming glowy damage source), it activates suit shielding automatically, stopping the lava from actually getting in touch with the suit, or even inside it. but the Ice shard itself was so quick and tiny (And well aimed), it actually managed to bypass the suit shielding/sensors and get inside it.

Aww, so your saying she was unfocused and couldn't get the shielding up in time.

...Keep in mind Lava is semi-solid. Ice is solid, and water is liquid. Water isn't affectable to Samus, cause well...why would it be? it just slows you down unless you have the Gravity Feature.

Lava, it damages the suit itself, no shielding or anything, the suit is the shielding. but its not really the lava that damages the suit, its the intense heat.

and Ice is well.... forceful. From Adam's compacted Freeze gun, when shot, these Ice pellets are shot at 100+ kph. Yes, I use kph as a Canadian.

This meaning, it would impact the suit at a high radius shot, and speed doubling power, damaging the suit's inner functions, causing the auto-reboot functions to activate.

This work?

Nooooo!!!!! >_<

Not her, HER SUIT! HER SUIT!!!

Her suit would use of sensors to stop more obvious hazards (Like water and lava), but the ice shard was so tiny and quick the suit sensors didn't detect it, so it got inside.

This work?

Sure, but its a thruster which wouldn't connect directly to anything vital, it'd just be an energy outlet, so weather or not a shard goes in it'd have nothing vital to cause malfunctions in.

I never mentioned anything about a thruster. I said it would damage the suit itself, Head on. Piercing through the suit, into the vital rebooting stage.

...Not really, At least not for me... >_>

First of all because i don't think the suit IS the shielding, but instead an energy layer around it.

Second of all because it seems you weren't paying much attention. We know water does zero damage, we were talking about its effect in matters of suit penetrability.

And third because i don't think the suit could suffer enough damage from just a direct hit of such a weakling military weapon.

Agreed, but the thrusters contain nothing vital to cause malfunction.

Not necessarily. they may be just an output section, but all output gotta come from a production central.

So for an energy output, it could only have came from...

Well, i think you can guess that by yourself... ;)

A vague sexual vibe. It means I sense you meant something sexually by that post, OR it means I think of something sexual when I read it.

So yes, a vague sexual vibe.
