Why doesn’t the MDb have a Twitter account?

The MDb has a Facebook. I personally don't feel like a Twitter is also necessary, but I guess they could just link the accounts for multi-posting.

I know, I’m a... liker?( The only thing I miss about being “a fan of” Facebook pages is an easy descriptor like that.)

Yup, that’s fairly easy, or they can use a client like TweetDeck or HootSuite to manage multiple accounts/sites. I feel like people are more likely to hide pages they like from their Facebook feed than they are to mute accounts in their Twitter timeline after bothering to follow in the first place.

Twitter sucks, and right now, seems like overkill. Aside from the fact that none of us want to do it (I sure as hell don't) .

Automatic posting would be nice, but we'd have to integrate it somehow with the RSS feed. That takes time, extra coding, and is currently not on our priority list. It's fine to suggest it, but I wouldn't expect anything for the time being.

Nowhere, really... But the increasing amount of hostility toward me... and from me... was getting to be a bit much, so when my computer broke, I took a break( it worked: aside from some recentish PMs I glanced over, I don’t even remember most of the issues from my previous time here). I didn’t intend to be gone for almost 3 years, but it was time for my life to actually become something, & it did, in several big ways. Much as I’d like to say it’s all been grand, a lot of that time has been spent dealing with personal issues, like addiction( would not be here now if not for my family & friends) & the abusive roommate I have mentioned elsewhere. But I did go back to school last year, had a great time & learned a lot. Even though I am not back this year, it was very much worthwhile. So now I am just in a holding pattern waiting/searching for what comes next. I thought it was the tea room( see the “How was your Day” thread) that offered me a job, but my latest dating adventure( whom I refer to on Twitter as Rebound Boy, since I am still getting over a 5½-month fling that started at the tail-end of February) kinda ended that. We’ll see! My life has been a rollercoaster for so long that I’ve now decided to enjoy the ride. & if the car stops in a loop-de-loop for a little while, well, it’s just a chance to smell the upside-down roses.

The former are preferable the latter( since in the case of the latter “it” is undefined), but you have to choose, can’t combine them; at least not that way.

I guess I didn't realize it had been almost three years, but yes, it certainly has been a long time that you've been gone, AMG. This place has gone through some major changes in the meantime. It just hasn't felt like the same message board without you "spicing" up the place. (I thought about going a different way with this comment but decided against it. Also, does anyone else think it's ironic that AMG was the first "Queen" the message board had? Ok, I'm done now.)

Getting this thread (sort of) back on topic, I think the MDb could use a Twitter. I'd definitely follow (for as much as I use Twitter, that's not saying much though) and I think it would be another great opportunity for our favorite Metroid site to branch out.

Back off topic (damn, re-railing and re-de-railing a thread all in a single post!) I think it's strange that a forum dedicated to Metroid shows that "Metroid" is not a word when typed in the text box. I don't suppose there's any way to change that, is there?
