I'm currently working on a Super Metroid Fusion! XD I dont have a video or any snapshots for it yet, but if anybody wants some I can get some. It's also still beta so glitches and graphical errors are bound to be there. Once the beta is done, im gonna upload a patch for it. Just need to know a good fan site where I can upload the patch. Like I said, I will get a video for it sooner or later, and once the beta is out, I would like some feedback! :D

What I want to see is a 2D boost ball, and being able to keep your speed booster even after jumping/space jumping as seen in Metroid+H

those, plus a slightly slower default Morph Ball and Faster falling speed (Super Metroid redesign) would make ANY Fan made game...awesome in my book

Well I was gonna dump some stuff for my game here anyhow. My game sounds like just what you want. It has 2d boost ball, increased fall speed (with small damage) and it takes a while to get morph ball
Heres a video

Ummm...do crossovers count? This site covers Super Smash Bros. so...

I use RPG Maker XP a lot, mostly to make weird crossover games.
Several of them, but none are complete. (if I spent more time on one, instead of less time on many, maybe I would have finished something!) But...there is one character I put in more of my crossovers than any other. That character would be Samus! There's just...no substitute.

And I should say that my crossovers use official artwork from games. So...some of the pictures I use are from here, just saying. I of course, plan to give credit. I couldn't do it if weren't for sites like this.

Anyway. I have 4 crossover RPGs with Samus, and 2 more that she will appear in!
Don't get excited or anything, none of these are anywhere near completion.
(oh, and I KNOW the screenshots aren't very good. The pictures aren't even scaled very well, but they are the best I can get at the moment...)
CROSSOVERS WITH SAMUS
1. A Nintendo crossover where you pick a team of Nintendo characters to take on Bowser's Castle, it's a "dungeon crawler". Samus is one of the selectable characters, and I considered making a Metroid playable as well.
Image
2. A fairly simple crossover with all kinds of weird stuff, like Donatello helping Princess Peach fight Bowser. But Samus is one of the playable characters, she helps Sailor Venus save Donatello and Bridget from Vile early in the game.
3. A weirder crossover with an unlikely team of villains causing all sorts of trouble. Who can stop the schemes of Ridley, King DeDeDe, Shredder, and Team Galactic? Well, Samus for one. Samus is introduced when Kagome is warped to Tallon IV, where Samus helps her try to find her way home, but Tallon IV isn't the same as it used to be. Samus will have her Varia, Gravity, Phazon, and Zero suits in this game.
4. A crossover that was planned to "Simply" be a crossover involving Mega Man X2, Skies of Arcadia, King of Fighters XI, and Chrono Trigger. Instead...you pick a team of 3 (you pick a whole team, no mixing and matching) to take on RPG versions of all the levels from Mega Man X2. But Samus, she's so awesome she goes it solo. So, in this game she's not balanced with the other characters, but she doesn't get back-up.
Image

CROSSOVERS THAT WILL HAVE SAMUS
1. My first, biggest, most ridiculous crossover will have Samus. At some point in the game, you'll travel deep through space. Samus will be one of your best allies at this point.
2. A crossover set mainly in space. The main characters are slightly villainous, but Samus helps them out for some reason, maybe to set them straight. She will have only the Fusion Suit in this game.

I also have several game IDEAS that would have Samus in them. But those are just ideas, the above 6 are all started projects.

AND........
My current project...won't have Samus. But it will have Phazon as an important part of the story. The main antagonists are combining Phazon with other powerful, dangerous materials to create something horrifyingly powerful. They are so evil, the Space-Pirates form a (temporary) truce with you to stop them! A Space-Pirate or [something]-Trooper will join and assist you. (maybe an Ice Trooper, gotta represent!)

I just love Metroid enemy art, and I always find a way to include something in my crossovers.

Are these games exciting? Probably not. Are they anywhere near done? No way. Do they accurately represent the characters? I don't know, but I try. Will they probably turn out lame if I ever finish them? It's possible. Will I ever finish all of them? I doubt it. But do I have fun making them? Certainly! And I think at least someone else might too...

I didn't see this thread when I made.my thread for my new game I am working on. It's called metroid revival, and is based on the site in my Sig. We will be making in gamemaker. With a predesigned metroid engine created by one of our staff. Just thought I should mention t. It's a fan made metroid 5.

It will be the best game any of us has played in our lives.

I got a question.

Is Metroid: SR-388 still in undercover production?

All things happen sooner or later, but one must remember, later always becomes sooner. - Me

I have me a notion that might be useful for a post-fusion game.

It's a fairly decent plot justification for Samus having to do the whole item-collection scavenger hunt yet again along with some storyline meat.
Having metroid DNA is real pain the ass. Now that it's fully integrated into her system, Samus now suffers the same energy-cravings that metroids do. Not wanting to go around sucking the life from the people around her, she needs a portable rechargable source of bio-energy in order to survive.

Fortunately, her suit is just such a source, being techo-organinc in nature.
Unfortunately, this means she can't take it off for any length of time without starving.
This is quite a problem since she's on the run from the GF for blowing up BSL and can't stop off anywhere for help or supplies (much less any sort of treatment for her condition) without being recognized and arrested.
Being the last source of metroid DNA makes her even more of a target.

She has to seek out an old space pirate base which is the only place that might have the technology to fix this. As it turns out, the base has been reclaimed bythe last surviving pirates.
Time for a deal with the devil.
She offers them the means to aviod total extinction as a species in exchange for their help.
Samus isn't just being selfish here, right now she's the only one who knows about the shenanigans the GF has been up to on BSL and in order to put a stop to any further such activites she needs to survive in order to blow the whistle on the people engaging is these nasty little black projects.

The interactions between people who loathe each other that are forced to work together has great potential for story drama, as well as a bit of comedy. Remember those funny log entries the pirates made in MP2? Not to mention the SPs are scared to death of her. ;)

Game mechanic-wise Samus still has all her abilities, but since she's feeding off her suit, there's no energy left over to operate any of them so using them drains her energy tanks. Just using the suit at all causes a slow trickly of energy drain like when you were using the dark suit in the dark Aether in MP2.

Abilities you normally get later in the game use the most energy, etc.
So you can use something like the screw attack right off, but not more than two or three times before it kills you.

Naturally the game would incorporate the ability to switch abilities on and off like in SM so you don't kill yourself by accident.

The only gear to be located in this game are additional tanks, and you start off with the ones you had in Fusion.

This gives an interesting dimension to the game in that players can really customize their play style and people won't roll their eyes and ask why Samus doesn't install lo-jack into all her gear. XD

Since it's not a metroid game without metroids there will of course be the expected pirate scheming where they copy the metroid vaccine from her to create pirate-troids.

Yeah, I said pirate-troids, so sue me. :P

Sooooo, whaddaya guys think?

Metroid: SR388 is dead. It died shortly after the trailer was unveiled. What a pity. It would've been even better than AM2R. :'( :'( :'( :'(

Metroid Nova:

This started off as a little experimentation in Zelda Classic (the new builds for the upcoming version update have included the rocs feather and sideview gravity, as well as the ability to script amendment code.), and then just.... sorta snowballed.

Anyway, it is still a Zelda Classic game (doing it in SMILE or something would just take all the fun and a lot of the creativity out of it!!) and still in progress.

The story here fits between Other M and Fusion, and has two threads:

Thread 1: During a trip to a federation station to complete some scheduled testing, Samus meets the testmaster's daughter: A fellow hunter named Jessica Bailey (whose design is based entirely off of Metroid-1 Samus, with green hair and purple clothes. Her powered suit is even the original design with the barrel chest and the tubes.) When the station is suddenly attacked by Pirates, Jessica is abducted (though not without a fight), and Samus gives chase to the strange planet the station orbits...

Thread 2: A relatively new organization called BSL had taken great interest in Planet Zebes, following its sudden vaporization, and birthed a "fabricore planet" recreating it. While fabricores were not uncommon in this galaxy (some even managed hi-tech tunnels going straight through one end of a planet to the other!), they were not often duplicates, and were not taken lightly (first the trajectory has to be calculated so as to avoid collisions, then the adequate distance from the star has to be reached, etc.) Not to mention, Nobody but Samus actually knew what Planet Zebes looked like on the inside... well, almost nobody.

With numerous Kihunters and Pirates in Federation custody, It was little trouble to put them to work mining out the freshly compacted and mineralized hunk of rock into something resembling their old base. (Just had to figure out how/what to command them with.) However, soldiers and other enforcers began to disappear from the planet, and contact with the scientists on the surface was lost. In no time at all, pirates escaped the planet and attacked the station which orbited it, unaware that Samus was aboard. Now, Samus must explore the planet, find Jessica, put a stop to whatever is controlling the pirates, and learn the underlying secrets of this place.

Again, half the fun of this whole project is just the kind of creativity I have. So yeah, Samus is tiny, and the morph ball is obsolete. gameplay/story segregation, that.

Don't know why, but I got a mental image of the Suit coming off like the Venom symbiote reading this... Anyways, since you'd be slowly dying like Prime 2, why not find/build suit upgrades like Prime 2?

(Yes, I see the post I'm quoting is almost a year old, but that mental image... It just... popped in there)
