Any chance this game will get a sequel? How likely is it for Nintendo to produce a sequel to this game and releasing it on the Wii U or the 3DS?

Re: Any chance this game will get a sequel?I'm pretty sure the sequel happened already.

Re: Any chance this game will get a sequel?
Oh yeah, let me be more clear then. I'm talking about a game with the same engine like Other M, just more worked out. |

Re: Any chance this game will get a sequel?Who can say? Anything's possible. I'm a little skeptical though, considering the poor sales and reception to Other M. My guess is Nintendo will likely do a Prime 4 or a 2-D sidescroller next time. Of course, I wouldn't count out the possibility of an Other M sequel. However, if they did, I'd prefer if they tweaked the gameplay to make it feel more traditional.

Re: Any chance this game will get a sequel?Personally, i thought other M's gameplay was great, but, as has been said all over this forum, Sakamoto fails at story writing.

Re: Any chance this game will get a sequel?Another 3D 3rd Person Metroid? Probably...
Made by Team Ninja? Not a chance in hell. Even the strongest of people can have their faith broken. Mine has.

Re: Any chance this game will get a sequel?I'd like to see this game engine utilized in a much freer environment.
Imagine the post-game Other M, except with better powerups and a greater variety of moves to pull off. Now THAT'd be amazing.

Re: Any chance this game will get a sequel?
Doubt there will be any more Wii Metroid games. I hope they make a totally new engine for WiiU Metroid. |

Re: Any chance this game will get a sequel?Well, the creators said that it would be unlikely without Team Ninja, so who can say.

Re: Any chance this game will get a sequel?I don't think Team Ninja's going to be let anywhere near Metroid after Other M. Way too much poison surrounding the title.
If they did though I'd market it as 'Team Ninja's back to finish the job!' Even the strongest of people can have their faith broken. Mine has.

Re: Any chance this game will get a sequel?I wonder, how many people outside Metroid fansites (i.e. the majority) know that team ninja had any involvement in Other M, I predict 5 people and 4 of them were told by the other, developers hardly get noticed for their works, good or bad.

Re: Any chance this game will get a sequel?I think quite a bit do. The problem is people still think Team Ninja had any involvement with the story, which they didn't (unless someone's a liar)

Re: Any chance this game will get a sequel?
3DS? Maybe. Probably. It's a really safe bet. Wii U? Absolutely not. I don't think Sakamoto is going to get the greenlight for a Wii U Metroid, not after Other M's reception. Besides, would you really trust a guy with so little 3D experience with an HD-level budget? |

Re: Any chance this game will get a sequel?Would you trust Sakamoto with Metroid at this point? Sure, Rhythm Heaven is great, and it looks like that'll be on Wii U. But for Metroid, he'd have a hard time to regain the audience's trust, even with a retcon. So I imagine someone else is going to take over the series if there wasn't some kind of a plan.
I'm inclined to believe that at the time of Other M's release he knew more about Wii U than 3DS because that's what he said. Nothing since then though, so they may have sent him down to the minors. Even the strongest of people can have their faith broken. Mine has.

You do know that he doesn't actually make the game himself? |
