Re: Mario kills tanukiCan't we just get a vegetarian Subway sandwich and be friends?
Back in topic, I have a feeling this will be one of those VERY rare moments where Nintendo voted back. They did it with Cooking Mamma, so they are sure as hell to do it with their own franchise. ![]()

Re: Mario kills tanukiI'll be the happy medium. I'm a pescatarian. And that's not for ethics reasons, either.
Really, I think there are ways that the livestock industry could improve how they treat animals, but I don't necessarily think that you have to turn vegetarian just to protest. I mean... animals eat other animals all the time. But that doesn't mean we have to be cruel, either. It's not too hard to be conscientious about what you buy and what you eat. I guess I'm lucky to live in Oregon where there are a lot of options for ethical diets that are locally available. There are ways to protest unethical treatment of animals that doesn't resort to crazy ranting, scare tactics, or publicity stunts that just make a group look like a bunch of lunatics. |

Re: Mario kills tanuki
Mcdonalds also serves food filled with additives. The chicken and cows have probably been given steroids, the nuggets are actually only 30% chicken, and everything is given a little bit of sugar because sugar's addictive qualities makes people want to eat more. I don't mind meat, but what they serve at places like mcdonalds is the promise of cancer/heart disease within the next thirty years of your life. On topic, I found out that the tanooki isn't even endangered and rarely even hunted anymore. Besides, they probably breed like rabbits given their... well... if you've seen a tanooki, then you know why "Writing is easy. Re: Mario kills tanukiOh, the tanooki suit was in that game too, wasn't it...
Regardless, PETA was founded in the 80s. When somebody tells me he doesn't believe in violence, I punch him in the face to inform him of its existence.

Re: Mario kills tanuki
Hope you have proof, be interesting to see (genuine requestion, not been arse) Things maybe different in the states compared to here in UK. Mcdonalds did used to use sub standard meat across their entire menu here, although on the back of many undercover reports they have improved things quite a bit. The nuggets are 100% chicken breast now, I've not been to a supplier of mcdonalds yet but I have been to several KFC suppliers and the meat coming out of their places is of 'good' quality, not the best by any stretch of the imagination as its battery farmed chicken. You're better off eating at mcdonalds et al then the dodgy takeaways, they do use absolute crap in their burgers and other meat products. Either way, eating too much of either will increase your risk of and early death, everything in moderation. The worst chicken nuggets you can get are the cheap frozen ones. |

Re: Mario kills tanuki
It is much different here in the states. As I recall, Mc Donald's nuggets are basically miscellaneous remnants of chicken that are blended up and soaked in ammonia, and then re-flavored with "chicken flavor". At least that's what they used to do. Chicken strips are usually breast meat and cost quite a bit more. I do remember on multiple occasions having bit down on weird bits of gristle and tendon in their nuggets and it was totally gross. I find it oddly funny that foreign countries have better food standards for places like Mickey-D's than the US does. Man, I'm so happy we have Burgerville. ![]() |

Re: Mario kills tanukiThey were never soaked in ammonia, that was a myth. Also, Mcdonalds now makes their nuggets differently than the standard nugget horror stories you've heard. I still wouldn't eat them though.
