Don't you all think Nintendo should have a red carpet launch party not only for the release of Zelda: Skyward Sword, but to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Zelda series!

Red carpet, photoshoots, special guests, VIPs, people, celebs who are a big fan of the Zelda series (Robin and Zelda Williams), live DJs, etc! ^_^

I couldn't stand it anymore and I started playing the copy of Skyward Sword I downloaded for emergency measures. You never know when the Earth will be struck by apocalyptic meteors, right?

So anyway, I played 7 hours of it this weekend and just got past the second dungeon. Simply amazing.

Having recently played Twilight Princess to prime myself for this game, I became way too reliant on simply waggling the Wiimote to swing my sword. It's habitual, and I'm still not fully adjusted to this 1:1 thing. I like it, though, and will like it more as I get used to it. There are other Wiimote-centric controls I haven't fully gotten a grasp on, such as falling or steering that damn bird. But I think I'll get there...

No worries though, with any luck, I'll have skyward sword by next week :) just hope the special edition ones haven't sold out by that time in my area

The legacy of Twilight Princess bothers me a bit. Most people who've played Skyward Sword won't want to play the wagglefest Zelda. Maybe they should've added Wii Motion Plus support to the Nintendo Selects version.

I haven't seen much falling in the game, but I had some trouble on that first fall, too. However, I really got the hang of flying the bird, possibly because I had already played that part of the demo. The beetle controls pretty nice, too, and the combat is so amazingly fun.

'Fie' (ファイ). Picked up the game yesterday, but haven't had a chance to play that much yet. I did listen to the whole symphony concert CD though. Awesome stuff.

Horrible horrible things have happend to my order for SS.
I walked to the store, and asked the owner if he has my game. Turns out, he accidentally ordered the official strategy guide instead.

After apologising profusely, he promised he'll do his best to get the game ASAP.
The store is a mom and pop place, and the owner is a friend of mine who gives me killer deals. He just isn't as alert as he should be sometimes. :(
When somebody tells me he doesn't believe in violence, I punch him in the face to inform him of its existence.

I decided that for next halloween, I'm dressing up as Ghirahim.

Also am I only one who has to google his name along with some other characters? Not as memorable as past games, not sure I can name anyone to be honest after 5 hours of play.

The controls are still bothering me and my graphics card is broken, lots of artifacts, had it for while now but really noticeable in this game, happens on transparent effects in all games, like clouds...

Still quite a good game though.

While playing through Skyward Sword, something dawned upon me.
Anyone who's familiar with the Zelda storyline will know that they speak of 3 Goddesses: Din, Nayru, and Farore.

Each Goddess attributes a different affinity towards the creation of the "world," (aka Hyrule) and along with it, a piece of the Triforce. Anyone familiar with Zelda knows the 3 pieces of the Triforce affinities: courage, wisdom, and power. Furthermore, due to color-coding, we know which piece of the Triforce goes along with its goddess:

Farore -> Courage
Nayru -> Wisdom
Din -> Power

The thing that dawned upon me is this: If you are the least bit familiar with game development, there are basically 3 factions that make up a game: programming, art, and level design. (sans producers, but we're ignoring those for the purposes of this theory)
The goddesses would be the following:

Farore = Art. Farore created the life of Hyrule. The living creatures, flora and fauna. This perfectly fits the Art track. Artists create textures, the look of a game, as well as characters and animate them.
Nayru = Programming. Nayru breathed life into everything, creating the waters and the air. Programmers allow a game to work properly. They "breath life" into everything that you can interact with in a game.
Din = Level Design. Din created the land, hills, valleys and mountains of the world. Level Designers create the puzzles, rooms, dungeons, and the world that you interact in.

All 3 work together to create a video game. Making the storyline of the Triforce, and the Goddesses of the Zelda series a metaphor for the 3 factions of game development.

Discuss.

Yeah, but do we really have to make such a big deal out of this? Yes, some people are homosexual, do we all have to ooh and awe everytime someone with such preferences appears?

As to what IE said, I think that's an interesting idea, but would that mean that Koji is Farore, Miyamoto is Nayru and Aonuma is Din XD
