Re: Metroid Cosplaylol damn she is cute (like seemingly all good samus cosplayers). I really love the photomanipulation... so cool.
|
|
Re: Metroid CosplayI'm really not crazy about the suit (it peeves me when people don't get the right indentation on the lower chest)
But the cosplayer and ESPECIALLY the photomanip looks really great. Who is the artist that did that? I might ask them to edit one of my pics :-p ![]() |

Re: Metroid Cosplay
I also posted the link in the Someone Else's Art thread. http://fav.me/d4gtmwc |

Re: Metroid CosplayNaw, the manipulation and photo were taken by a guy, but the subject is still a female, a different user. Says so in the artist's comments.

Re: Metroid CosplayPeople have made the same mistake with mine before, thinking that I wore my Samus suit, or in the case of one article on it, that I was some creep who hosted a bunch of pics of Krystal on my dA page.
I just dropped by because I wanted to tell you guys that I got accepted for the Dean's Undergraduate Research Grant at Rutgers. I put in a submission last month, and it was a bit of a pain, but they are going to give me $500 to create the Ridley costume out of high-quality archival materials so that I'll be able to show it in the Stedman Gallery later this spring. This time, we're purchasing some kind of airplane cables for the mouth's pulley system and using high-density foam to bring down the weight of the enormous pieces. Sidenote: I saw something that looked a lot like the idea I described a few pages back for an Ing costume with hand-stilts... The Landstriders from Jim Henson's The Dark Crystal. |

Re: Metroid Cosplay
No. Believe me. It's a man. I saw an article recently on Kotaku. Also, here is his deviantart, which includes a photo of him shirtless: http://daviddorn.deviantart.com/ ![]() |
|
Re: Metroid CosplaySo this daviddorn is the same person as Talfryn? Without any doubt? Because he says that http://talfryn.deviantart.com/ is the model. Kotaku means like... zero to me. And the photos look like two different people to me.

Re: Metroid CosplayPhotoshop. The face is super manly in some photos. Could be a transgender also, but they announced him to be a guy. I dont think the model would be too pleased if a big website like that mixed up his/her gender.
I want to go back and find the article again, but I can't find it. Ugh. This is going to bug me all night ![]() |
|
Re: Metroid Cosplaythis is a quote straight from daviddorn's deviantArt page:
Then you go to Talfryn's page and read the her description: Talfryn Female/United States there is no way this cosplayer is male. The face and body type says woman. Hope you can find that article... VGM out... Super Metroid, the most perfect game ever created! Period!

Re: Metroid Cosplay*Looks at Talfryn's DA account*
Wow Zadra........how could you ACTUALLY mistake her for a guy?! ![]() ![]()
|
|
Re: Metroid CosplaySome crossplayers can be very believable. Her body is.
The face...... seriously.... no comment there ![]() |
|
Re: Metroid Cosplay@Zadra If you think her face looks that manly, I'd LOVE too sees what you think looks very feminine!
![]() EDIT: Just wanna say that the cosplay is great. It has a more "innocent" feel than any other zero suit cosplay I have seen yet, the photomanipulation is awesome, and the cosplayer herself is really pretty (I am looking at you, Zadra ).![]()
