Other M wasn't inspired by Samus Aran. It was inspired by Metroid Fusion. He didn't think about the consequences of his actions. He just thought 'this matches up with Metroid Fusion, so it's good enough for me.'
If Sakamoto is all about 'making people happy' he'd remove the game/arc in question from canon, forcibly.
Because we have a series of direct quotes to back up this statement Honestly, how does one person who doesn't work at nintendo or have any evidence to back him up make any difference to a major company half a world away? Besides, I point out again that this is a metroid 5 thread not an other m thread. I'd rather not have to have the mods come and interrupt what was recently an interesting, well thought out discussion with banning and yelling at people, so can we please stay on topic and create other ones to discuss things like in the above quote

Um .. If I may; the latest concensus seemed to be that the next Matroid game should have Samus exploring a metropolitan, technologically advanced - i.e. futuristic - city and have to swap her accessories until she is able to upgrade her suit to acquire more. Oh, and the Fusion Suit is here to stay. Although, given that a change has already been initiated, a progressional evolution of the suit may be possible. Point is, though, it is unlikely that the suit will revert to it's former appearance any time soon. Is that right? Anything to add?

That is true. But I was hoping it would be the game after the next one. I want to get something out of the way in M5, and my way of doing that would be the perfect lead-in to M6 and the city (mainly, the war).LesserChozo wrote:Oh, and the Fusion Suit is here to stay. Personally, I'd rather not see Metroid turn into a galactic war kind of game. There have been enough comparisons to Halo already. Maybe that's just me.

War on Metroids, War on Space Pirates, War on Phazon, War on the X, personal war against Ridley, it's already a galactic war game! I'm just freshening it up by putting the two sides in a blender, shaking well, and putting it on "puree". Then just sit back and watch the battles unfold through the eyes of Samus, as she sorts out the bad and good and helps out the latter defeat the former.

Fair enough. But if they ever make a Metroid RTS, I'll have none of it, good sir.

Well, I would like to see a city type environment, but it would need to look pretty crazy and completely unrealistic for me to care all that much....Ho about one planet, one enemy/bounty. Perhaps the planet itself could be a hostile environment supporting mostly naturally hostile creatures (and some nice cute ones) What if samus really had to hunt someone or something down...it would not be so much a war, just a game of survival. Add some horror elements to really spice it up.
I suppose I will most likely support almost any idea...and judge it after the fact. The only games I have not liked so far were hunters and pinball...they just did not have the feel I would want in a metroid game.
I really like the suit being more organic, and I would like it to stay that way, or maybe samus could enter a cycle of evolution, and change entirely....all sorts of options. Why go back.

Samus: The elevator is broken, so you need to get the key Space Jump to enter the 18th floor lava cave in the City Center building Inferno region. Go there, NOW!

I love the idea of a city, but I'd like a few things to be included also to maintain the isolated metroid atmosphere games like super metroid and echoes possess Citizens could be hostile with very few exeptions, making you constantly mistrust every npc Samus meets, they could all be animals or aliens that don't speak the seemingly universal english in metroid who act out hints as to what they want you to do like the dachora and etecoons, or the requests could be coming from off planet and the city would be in the form of a satellite that can't be reached conventionally However it were to work, as soon as you step outside of the somewhat more civilized areas, you'd have to know a few basic truths: you are going alone, no one will come to find you if you're lost or injured, and everything out there can and will try to kill you. Perhaps towards the end, some citizens will assist you to reach the final area, but none of that I'll tell you step by step exactly what you have to do to succeed or You go, I'll cover you Basically, it should be a world that more or less has, in bold faced letters over the entrance gates: ![Metroid [METROID]](./images/smilies/metroid.png) "Welcome to Metroid, prepare to die!" ![Metroid [METROID]](./images/smilies/metroid.png)

It's cool how everyone has a completely different take on the city idea. Just goes to show how versatile that setting could be.

It's strange how there are so many metroid games, and yet, they all share almost identical upgrades. Metroid V should definitely add a few new additions to the metroid armory, but I'm having trouble coming up with weapons that would work as good replacements/additions to Samus' already-impressive and virtually all-purpose loadout Any ideas?

I was hoping for some ideas specifically pertaining to metroid V that could add to the established metroid gameplay that the previous four entires have had and change it up to make it feel fresh, as opposed to several ideas with no coherent connection

I personally think that it would be cool if in next game we would get upgrades from enemies like we gotten some from x parasites in fusion, I know that x parasites are dead but maybe samus could get upgrades from other species, the idea is based on the theory I mentioned in my thread(Questions about Samus metroid DNA) that the life force absorbing ability and ability to absorb X parasites is one and the same. I know that this theory is far fetched because we never saw metroid use any ability absorbed from other species but neither we saw metroid use ability absorbed from X parasite(that they should get when absorbed X parasite), it's also possible that reason for different types of metroid on different planets is because metroid will absorb different DNA with life force on other planets. I think it would be cool if in next game we would see Samus and/or her suit "evolve" by absorbing DNA from enemies . I would be glad to hear people opinion about this theory in my thread "Questions about Samus metroid DNA".
