Finally finished my entry, feels good to be done. If you got a submission from a guy named Victor that should be me.

The helmet was a pain to redesign. It was actually the hardest part for me.

What gave you so much trouble with it?

The helmet is just the first thing I picture in my mind when I think of Samus. For me, it was difficult to make it enough different to be a redesign while keeping it enough the same to still be recognized as her helmet. Also, I'm not a terribly great artist, so getting it to look like what I saw in my head was a long and frustrating process. But that's just me and my wierdness. I should (finally) be finished by the end of this week. Huzzah!

It's not just you. It seems we're in the same boat, it really sucks when execution doesn't match enthusiasm. Good luck with your entry

It's proving very difficult to model and render a new suit. At this point I'd find it very helpful to know whether or not we can take a model from, say, prime 2 and heavily modify it's mesh and retexture it.

That kinda falls into the "paintover" category, don't you think?
We don't need 3D models, just a 2D representation will do.

I just started working on mine, thinking I'd barely have time to finish, but then there's an extension! How convenient!

I thought about combining two suits with a weird extra twist thrown in. I'm sure it has problems, but now I feel like my biggest obstacle is coming up with a NAME. A new Suit just wouldn't seem as cool if it didn't have a simple, but effective name. And so far I got nothin'. Maybe when I finish it, and it's story, it'll come to me.

Hmm... I wasn't really planning to enter this contest, but then an idea popped into my head and I worked up a nice little background. Now I just need a good visual to go with it.

I think the judges understand and have taken into account the varying levels of artistic talent.

I sure hope so! I'm doing something with the Fusion Suit too.


It's funny, I was coloring my picture, thinking it didn't look as much like Samus as it should, but then I colored her helmet...red...and BAM, looks like Samus! That red helmet is more iconic than I realized...I know that not all of the Suits use it (and I love some of the ones that don't), but I just thought it was interesting.

I'm almost done, but URGH, I keep forgetting about some kind of story to go with this. I still have no idea what to call it, what it's for, what it does, why it's like what it's like...But I'm sure something will come to me.
