Were faced with an issue here.
Ok, so... my younger cousin and I were playing Super Metroid on the Wii (VC) and he just entered into Tourian.
This was his first-time playing, so he fought off all the Metroids with his super missiles and used them all up. He then entered the sand-area and saw baby-Metroid 'cut scene' of the Metroid greeting him then continued playing. He saved at the last save room in the game and went to fight Mother Brain. He lost. We both decided the best thing to do was get more super missiles, but then we realized the sand-room door was grayed. So now were suck in Tourian, forced to beat Mother Brain or suffer.
My question is: Can we reset our game, or can we beat Mother Brain without the use of Super Missiles?
(Side note: We only have 100 normal missiles, and 35 Power bombs)
Thanks.

You can use fully-charged beam attacks to damage MB as well. All the beams except Spazer should be on for best results.

Isn't there a missile recharge RIGHT after the sand room? I seem to recall one.
I only had 25 Super Missiles and 150-something regular missiles when I fought Mother Brain, and I had to use Charge-Beam shots towards the end of it (to compensate for the missed shots). It's very possible - Mother Brain is not TOO hard, if you remember to focus on a cycle of hammering her with missiles, then dodging her attacks.

He wasted all of his SUPER missiles, which there's no way to recharge at that stage. No mob-drops from Rinkas, I'm afraid. But I do agree that the only reasonable solution is charge beam shots. And careful dodging.

Ha ha ha ha, I don't even know how you can use up all of your Super Missiles in Tourian, considering there's only like 10 or so Metroid in there. Unless he was missin' like crazy and only had like 5 Super Missiles.

Or you could just use normal missiles.

I know right? He had like 25 of the Super Missiles then but he freaked out and shot like 5 or so at each Metroid. I should have helped him out and said something, but I thought it was funny. Thanks everyone, I'll tell him the news.

Super's weird like that... after you get Plasma, fully-charged beam shots are more powerful than Super Missiles (AND faster) so you could probably succeed using that. Stay far back right corner, aim diagonally-up, charge, and blast away, jumping over the bombs and things she throws at you. It's a pretty easy fight.

Worst thing that ever happened to me is, I was speed running the game, and when I got to mother brain, I did not have enough missiles or super missiles to break the glass because I skipped so many pickups I had to start at my save point and get the nearest missile pickup, that gave me just enough missiles to break the damn glass and deal damage to the first form. I kept the save file so I would know exactly how many regular missiles I would need, if I ever tried it again...I'm no good at speed runs

Um...there is a recharge station for health AND super missiles(including normal missiles)RIGHT AFTER the baby metroid scene.how could you not see the door in the room after the baby metroid scene.

Nice try, but no. There's no such thing as a charge station for super missiles.

No, he's right, there should be one of these: just go stand next to it on one side and it'll refill your missiles and... Oh... really? No, these don't restore Super Missiles. What were they thinking? I got nothing then, except try to get through without the super missiles... good luck

Your best bet would be to probably have all beams except the Spazer equipped, use the charge beam, and dodge Mother Brain's attacks as much as possible. Normal missiles can also be helpful if you feel a need to use them. Good luck.
Opinions are opinions, not facts. Though, everyone is entitled to their opinion, of course. Even Metroids and Ridley, the unkillable beast. Viva Les Alpha et Omega Metroids. Kraid should be brought back, he needs some good 'ol Metroid love.

I just did it with 10 supers, 130 regulars, and then finished Ma Brain off with charged shots. It's not hard at all!
