The most emotional moment I've ever seen in a video game was the final boss of Mother 3. If you've played the game, you understand, if you haven't, I won't spoil it for you.

I came so close to crying, but then I died and it kind of ruined the moment for me...

The only time I've cried in a video game was for NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams.
At the end of the game the main character (NiGHTS) sacrifices himself/herself (NiGHTS is androgynous) for the children to be saved. NiGHTS realizes it is the only way for the final boss to die because one cannot live without the other. This lasted for about ten minutes because NiGHTS came back to life on top of a clocktower in a city resembling London.
The game is about >6 hours of complete acid trip with a flying androgynous childlike protagonist.

Sorry, kronor, I just had to make the joke. But on topic, when I was like 9, I cried when in pokemon mystery dungeon red rescue you and your partner were exiled alone. All of the mystery dungeon games have been pretty Damn amazing, in my opinion.

You better add Skyward Sword to this list, IE :AH:

Nope, never cried in a game.

Well, except when Super Mario All-Stars kicked my ass. Then I did this: :kraid:

Um...for some reason, when the priest died in Link to the Past, that was pretty sad. I was young at the time and didn't think they would kill such a nice authority figure.

Aside from the obvious (the Mother Brain fight in Super, I still get weepy over that after 17 years, how sad am I?), I find the ending of Lufia 2 really sad. And one of the endings of Disgaea: Hour of Darkness. Horse weiner. Snrk.

Strangely, I was also kind of moved by the ending of Fatal Frame 2. As well as some of the little side bits of story you read about along the way that doesn't necessarily make a difference on the gameplay. And Itsuki Tachibana.

I think you should switch the places of "obvious" and "strangely". You are literally the first person I've met who cried during the ending of SM, yet everyone I know who played Fatal Frame 2 (the few they are) was moved by the ending.

STILL haven't cried while playing a game, though I have a feeling SS will change this.

Good ol' randomly flying limbs...

Try not to cry at this turn of events. Things get very emotional from 4:48 onward... And that end? Had me in tears.

Really? Huh. Well, truth be told, I was still pretty young when my brother and I beat Super for the first time. (I would play the game and he would beat the bosses for me because I'd get so jittery I couldn't do anything.) Even he got weepy at the end. We were both pretty shocked by it. By now, it's sort of a subtext thing, since I kind of think "storyline" in those situations. As far as FF2, I said "strangely" mostly due to the fact that the ending is on the end of macabre. In a certain light, it's downright creepy. Which I guess is the point, since it's a horror game. But I was still moved. It felt powerful and sad.

I'm adding Skyward Sword to my list. I'm getting close to the end, and there's already been one scene that had me teary-eyed. Which also made me remember the two instances I was moved in Twilight Princess, both involving Midna. She was an awesome character. I'd love to see her in another game, as opposed to how I see TINGLE EVERYWHERE. >_< Tingle seriously needs to DIAF. Worst. Zelda character. Ever.

I'm sure more will come to me eventually.
