Hey Everyone, The title says it all, I'm building a Metriod like game for iphone! I just wanted to share progress with some fans who might be interested. This game is hugely inspired by Super Metroid for SNES my favorite of all the metroid games. And here are some screens and descriptions, I'd love to get your feedback This is a image of boss number one rising out of the ground this is the map screen. like the good old map from metroid in some ways, you can also check mission objectives, and later you can find "Jump-pads". if you are in a jump pad room you can jump to any other room with a active jump, making it easier to get to far away rooms faster so I'd love to know what you guys think! and if you have any questions about the game I can answer them here is the teaser trailer Thanks -Ash Monster Robot Studios

This is much more suited in the Gen. Video Games, so I'm moving it there. Judging from the images though, it looks great! Looking forward to seeing more.

Great graphics and seems legit. My only concern is the controls, as those are generally hard to get right on an iphone game. I would give you a dollar based on what I've seen so far.

The Controls were tricky, however I think I've built a system the works pretty smoothly. I'll post a video of them in action soon, but the basic rundown is this: you can customize them in any combination. You can have the classic D-pad and buttons, or you can have all touch screen, or some of each. in full touch screen mode you can press anywhere on the left side of the screen to walk. There are two walk speeds depending on how far from the touch point you drag you thumb. You can drag your thumb up to aim at an upward angle, down to aim down, etc. You can double tap the left side to dash. If you touch anywhere on the right side you fire your weapon, you drag your thumb up to jump, and drag you finger down to take the safety off/fire the heavier weapons that require ammo. It actually feels pretty intuitive using the touch screen even though I'm a fan of old school buttons myself, and they also work well on the iPad, which is nice. But I'm leaving the option of all buttons in even though one of my beta testers told me not to, these kids today just hate buttons! I don't get it. I love it, I'd be glad to get it when it's finished. The character design is like a space marine and samus combined.

Dont be dissing this man, that's just rude. It's not a metroid game. It's a metroid-LIKE game, and actually, I would rather that the next metroid game would be a sidescroller that is at least as long as super metroid, and is on he 3ds

I totally agree. metroidlover64 is nothing but a TROLL! Ignore the TROLL! Edit: One thing I did notice is that the gun the main character used looks like its floating. Is there any way you can make it so the back end of it is tucked under his arm? VGM out...

The logic of this post is so flawed that my brain is about to explode. Anyways, definitely like what I see. Keep up the good work!
