I haven't done every single thing on all the games

It is pretty easy in Metroid and Metroid II ;)

Just wanted to say that I finished my 3rd play through of this today (first time in about a year) and I enjoyed it tremendously once again. Controlling Samus is a joy throughout and I really enjoy the combat, with some fantastic boss battles thrown in. The game does a great job of quickly moving the player from one area to the next, only some overlong cutscenes slow the pace. The story really wasn't that bad either, just your typical videogame bullshit. The one thing that I really didn't like was the invisible walls - they have no place in any videogame!

I gave it a 9/10 at the time and still stand by that now!

I'm contemplating a third (or fourth? I lost count) runthrough of the game. Just to reassess my opinion on it.

Don't think I'm going to bother with hard mode, because that mode is bullshit, though I might for shits and giggles.

Mainly, I just have to see if time has weathered or changed my opinions, positive and negative, of the game.

Lol, I doubt I will have a change of heart over the where's waldo segment, though.

I'm also going to replay the game soon - my second time playing. This time, however, I'm going to play it in Japanese, to see if anything changes if I watch the cutscenes thinking it's an anime. :P

I played a little bit this morning and remembered how I enjoyed this game's speedster Samus.

Well, here's my first post and my impressions of Metroid: Other M. I really like the gameplay and the combat system of M:OM. It gives me a feeling that I am Samus and that I can do anything that I want (unless of course there's authorization, but I don't think it was that bad). The story was not bad for me and I think it just needs a little work on the dialog as it can get awkward and a bit unnecessary. Overall I like Metroid: Other M as a whole and I can say that it brought my full interest in the Metroid series. Before, I never got interested in Metroid because I was not a big gamer in the 2000's and I could not get myself to be invested in the stories or characters. Now after Metroid: Other M, I intend on looking forward for more metroid games in the future as well as buying other metroid games such as the acclaimed Super Metroid.

If you liked the fast-paced nature of Other M, I think you'd like the "classic" series, such as Metroid Fusion, Zero Mission, and the rightly-praised Super Metroid.

The latter is only $8 on the Wii, so if you have some extra cash by all means pick it up!

The Prime games are fantastic, but they are much more slower-paced, exploration-over-action games.

For sure, check the others out! I haven't been disappointed by a Metroid game yet and I've at least started a couple of them. I loved Other M as well, and maybe I wasn't disappointed in it because of some of the less than favorable ratings made me skeptical so I just waited for the price to go down and bought it for $15 and I ended up liking the game. With that said, if you liked Other M I think you will really enjoy the others.

Not sure if Super Metroid could be counted as a fast-paced Metroid game.
You can go fast if you get used to how Samus moves, but until that point you'll just keep on falling slowly down and try to get up again.
It's fun once you learn correctly how to move Samus.

Me?
No, haven't learned yet.
I'm just a player who still gets lost in MARIDIA

A little off topic, but the Tourian in Metroid Super Zero Mission is probably one of the best ever made. At least what from I've played.
