Generally, when it comes to Nintendo, the big franchise games like Mario and Zelda always go for at least $25 MSRP, but the very negative reaction to Other M has killed much of the potential sales through word-of-mouth. No one's buying the game and the retailers have been dropping the price more and more just to get anybody to buy copies and get rid of their backroom surplus.
I think the lowest I've seen Other M fall (so far) was $9.99 new and $8.99 used at a GameStop.

OUCH! Now that's bad! And I'm assuming that's for a new copy. At this rate, it may get to the point where no one'll take Other M for free.

Yeah, that's pretty bad. What's worse is that nobody seemed to be buying it.
Didn't Other M have the biggest budget out of all the Metroid games?

If it didnt then nintendo really knows how to economize. Orchestrated music, hq cinematics, lots of voice acting, etc.

Lowest I have seen is $9.99 at EB Games...pretty bad for a game not even two years old yet (though personally I think it should be lower still...)

Heheh, lower than $5? Ehh... Has Nintendo or anyone who worked on this game made any comment on the reception?

Lowest I've seen it priced at was 5 dollars. I know the game was bad, but I've seen something like Carnival Games run for more money. Ouch.

Were people picking it up or ignoring it?
Man, you can't sink much lower than a major first party game going for $5.

I didn't precisely see that happen, but it's a testament to the game's lack of popularity that it just hit a million units two years after its release. Two. Freaking. Years.
Compare that to Carnival Games's sales, which is up to over 3 million.

Is Carnival Games good for anything other than shelf space? I mean know reaction to Other M was...mixed and could be debated all day (I liked it, not that that factoid matters), but really? On topic, I saw Other M for $9.99 US dollars. On. Gamestop's. Website. Not that I care, as I obtained my copy a couple months after release for $5.00 less than new price (for reference, it was $50.00). Really, the negative reaction wasn't THAT bad (I've done research on the reaction). It just seems that everyone dissapointed with the game were expecting something else entirely.
Opinions are opinions, not facts. Though, everyone is entitled to their opinion, of course. Even Metroids and Ridley, the unkillable beast. Viva Les Alpha et Omega Metroids. Kraid should be brought back, he needs some good 'ol Metroid love.

Probably Carnival Games has gotten better sales because it went for a different audience than Other M, one that wont care if the game has low metacritic score or if is despised by gamers, the same audience that buys family or minigame games.

Incidentally, Other M was an attempt to get Metroid into the mainstream.

And it was a bad move if you ask me. Metroid doesnt have local multiplayer or a non-violent theme for family play, nor it has online multiplayer or the fps theme for the CoD audience. Carnival Games succeeded where OtherM failed because it actually is a casual/family game.
