Anyway, they're now hanging on my handbag! :D :D :D

You guys got a My Little Pony toy from the Happy Meal?
As for you all Bronies, there's a reason to order one! ^_^

So... Anyone else who collects toys or wear FiM T-shirts out in public or whatever else out-of-the-closet bronies do?

Not me. I've never been able to see the appeal of buying the toys, except to perhaps support the show, but I'm too self-conscious and stingy to consider going out and doing that -_-;

However... I'm bored and about to start the short-story unit in my creative writing class, and my teacher recommended trying to write using existing characters, aka fan-fiction :-? (last thing I expected from someone who majored in literature) so I might try that... why does it pain me to type this >_<

I bought a toy of Lily Blossom, for fun, a few months ago. I find her color scheme appealing. Bought a few others for the desire to make customs with them. I know a few customizers out there that are very talented and being an artsy-fartsy person myself, I thought it would be a fun thing to try out and see if I'm any good at it.

But I would not call myself a brony. The label it brings with it, even in the pony community, is not particularly flattering. x_x

Hm, let's see... It means being unemployed, homosexual, autistic, being attracted to the ponies... That's the stereotype as I know it. How do you describe the label?

Wow, you sound like you're describing one particular brony I know about who comes off as a pedophlic creep. Minus the "homosexual" part, since I don't think a person's sexuality has any sway on it. :P

It more involves just... I dunno. A very unflattering, obsessive preoccupation with teh poniez to a point that it's unhealthy. "OMG, look, gaiz! I'm a guy and I wore this pony T-shirt in public and I have this giant collection of the toys, tee hee, and nobody said anything! 8B " or "Oh look, this is the newest popular fad, I have to be involved with ALL THE THINGS and have ALL THE THINGS so I can be the best and coolest fan and be popular!" are a couple of examples.

That said, nobody here has particularly struck me as a "brony". Male, female, doesn't matter. The memes are funny. The show's cute, and enjoyable for multiple demographics. I hear more about bronies on another forum I frequent with users who spend time on the MLP Arena and the MLP Trading Post. So I get to see a lot of the WTFuckery in the pony community, even not being a member of those particular websites, myself.

I'm unemployed, bisexual, I have an anxiety disorder, and I like ponies, but I'm not a brony. :)

Seems like you've explored the fanbase more than I'll ever care to, being satisfied with the niche I've settled in and all that.

Something struck me when I looked for fanart: horror-themed. Some even come with blood, gore, violence, nightmare-fuel and can get really, really dark. I find it very interesting and entertaining for some reason. Well, it's a certain internet rule of which I can't remember but it went something like "all things pure and innocent must be corrupted" or something like that. An example below.

I believe that you are referring to Rule 34? :AH:

And yeah, seeing more of the fanbase than even I care to see sort of happens when I spend a good chunk of my internet time on a pony pet sim site. :geemer: (My secret shame.) If it weren't for the really cool, mature people there, I'd be overwhelmed with stupid. And even that site isn't as overwhelmed with obnoxious bronies as the other two sites I mentioned.

I know what rule 34 is and I would've been a lot more direct in describing it -_-;
So far my experience with other "bronies" has been... interesting I guess. At first I found myself being caught in discussions about the importance of cohesion (you know, to avoid making it sound all corny), then fighting my almost second nature homophobia. There's more but I'm not bringing that up.

I'm sorry, I guess I misunderstood what you were meaning in your previous post. I apologize for that. Never meant to offend or upset you.

I like using the term brony for myself. I see the word as "fan of My Little Pony", which is true for me. I currently have no pony merch (more because of lack of opportunity than choice), but I enjoy the show and am open to my friends about it. Remember most bronies aren't unemployed nor homosexual (I really have no idea where you got that stereotype from).

There are some crazier ones in the bunch, but the vast majority of bronies are pretty nice people... Well, at least on the pony sites I visit. Equestria Daily, Derpy Hooves News, My Little Brony and BronyVille are all OK.

My amount of pony merch might change soon, however. I ordered The Friendship Express from Amazon and might get one (or two) big stuffed ponies for my birthday next week. :P I'm still searching for good T-shirts around here. Importing from WeLoveFine is too darn expensive.

PS: Spike is now officially not a non-pony anymore and we got a new pet on our hooves.

I personally attribute "brony" to fanboy, which in itself has a metric ton of negative connotation behind it, but I only dislike the word when applied to me personally, when applied to the fanbase as a whole, I don't really care.

Also, I myself have no merchandise and have no plan to get any (self-consciousness for the loss :() but I still have EQD bookmarked :P

P.S. We now have phoenixes and dragons as common creatures, so now I'm just waiting for a kirin/qilin/jilin to appear :D

My special birthday episode was pretty good. I'd say... 4 out of 5. I really liked the background music in the scene where Fluttershy decides to train. And that tree moment near the beginning. I LOLed my ass off.

Two things:
1) Awesome job getting Nightmare rank Naner! :thumbsup:
2) Season finally preview!

I'm personally very excited. Yay! :D

I'm pretty excited for that two-parter, as well. William Anderson said it would have a song, so it can't possibly be bad. :D And Twi's brother doesn't look anything like her. :P
