I'm from a small town called Burnsville, NC. It's a 30 minutes-ish drive from Asheville, NC (where you pretty much have to go to have any fun). It's a pretty boring place, but the mountains are pretty.

heard of it, never been there. Ashville's likely the closest I've been and yes I think NC mountains are some of the most gorgeous on the east coast

Living minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway is definitely a plus even if the place is a little boring. If I ever move I know I'll always miss it.

I'm new to this board too and I live in Charlotte, NC! I noticed there are a few North Carolinians on here!
I've been a Metroid fan for over a year (blame my uncool "video games are bad for you" parents for that one) and I'm 25 in May, married to an awesome gamer and I have two daughters, ages 2 1/2 and 5 months.

I would imagine that's not quite true; they're just less likely to admit it.

Sadly true. Or they just don't play Metroid or other Nintendo titles. I know a lot of female gamers that are into the modern FPS or Tetris or casual games but not good ol Metroid. I'm kinda alone in my IRL Metroid world so I'm glad I found this board!

I once asked this girl I work with if she plays videogames. She said, "not really," but then tells me she's obsessed with Call of Duty. What's up with that? And then we got into a serious conversation on retro games. Apparently she was a Spyro fan; classic Spyro, anyway. Maybe I just asked the wrong question.

Also, I know a lot of people who don't play video games but they play old school Mario which is cool, then these are some of the same chicks who play stuff like Farmville and Bejeweled and other random time killers like that. I just can't get into stuff like that. The only "time killer" game I play is Angry Birds and that's usually when I'm bored. Otherwise it's Metroid, Zelda, Mario, or Final Fantasy (7-10).

I'm MG2433g5, admin and bureaucrat of Wikitroid. I probably won't be posting too much, but I will be there if one of our members go completely insane or something and be able to tell you that Wikitroid claims no responsiblity for the activity of its members or something. For official purposes I guess? IDK, need to get this first post over with.

Hello peoples of MDB forums! I've been to this site several times, and decided that I need a new forum (I was previously at MGS: TUS for a few years but... since their restructuring, there hasn't been a forum) so here I am!
Nice to meet you all.
