You know what I love about the Prime games so far?The fact that after I defeat a difficult boss I feel pretty darn good about myself.

Re: You know what I love about the Prime games so far?Metroid Prime had great bosses after Chozo Ruins.
Echoes bosses needed less health so they didn't drag on so far. Corruption is just awful for bosses really. Only the hunters and Dark Samus are fun. I never use spoilers for games over 2 years old. |

Re: You know what I love about the Prime games so far?I agree with the assessment of Prime 3: the bosses not only were underwhelming but had extremely simple patterns. Rundas, Gandrayda and Dark Samus was probably the only bosses I liked in the game. To make it worse, in Prime 3 you had to fight boring bosses over and over (I remember fighting the Metroid Hatcher 4 times! And every single time it wasn't fun!)

Re: You know what I love about the Prime games so far?I guess I forgot to mention that I haven't really played MP3 yet, I've only started it just to see what it was like.

Re: You know what I love about the Prime games so far?I thought you only had to really fight the hatcher once, because once you fight it the other times, you have the xray visor + nova beam, and you can kill it in one hit.
But I haven't played Corruption in years so I cannot remember. Some bosses in Corruption are good, others are kind of meh. Mogenar is cool, but pretty damned difficult for being the first proper boss in the game. It will make or break you, especially if you are not well-versed in the use of hypermode (which at that stage you aren't!). But yes, the boss fights are definitely some of the best moments in the Prime Series. Fight Quadraxis is probably up there as one of the best moments in all of Echoes, and nothing to get you tense and nervous as fighting the Alpha Blogg in the depths of Torvus without the gravity suit.

I remember doing a playthrough where I fought them all after getting the nova beam and xray visor. I think they're placed so that you only need to run into them when you're looking for power cells. ![]() |

Re: You know what I love about the Prime games so far?
Yes, the three hatchers are optional. One just opens a shortcut in the homeworld, other is just for an energy cell, and the one on the valhalla can be "escaped" from since the doors are unlocked. |

Re: You know what I love about the Prime games so far?I did find Alpha Blogg to be pretty difficult! I still thought the Spider Guardian was pretty hard. (I'm playing the GC version). I still think the boost guardian was one of the worst bosses, imho. Power Bomb guardian was kind of annoying but I got him on the first try.
Was Mogenar the boss where you had to shoot certain spots on his body or something like that? I did come across that in MP3 when I was just trying it out. |
