Re: Silent Hill Thread
Maybe I don't remember, I did not think Henry's apartment was in SH? He went through a hole in the wall.
Re: Silent Hill ThreadTrue, though the room is invariably linked to the town.
At any rate it has no bearing on the story. The game seems to be full of little nods like that. Nothing too obtrusive, though. ![]() Also, I've been getting glimpses of an ominous figure carrying what looks like a large mallot. Definitely not Pyramid Head, but can't tell if it's a clone or not. ![]() Don't be pushed by your problems. Be led by your dreams.

Re: Silent Hill ThreadI found a wierd, funny glitch. Sometimes when you run over or through a weapon on the ground, it will multiply itself.
I might have encountered a game-ending glitch. I'm not sure yet.
I've gotten as far as acquiring the boat key and went out to Port District. I had some puzzles left to solve, so I went back to take care of them. Now that that's done I tried to go back to Port District, but the door is locked again. I have no idea where to get the key, if there even is one. I'm pretty sure the subway is the only way to get there.
I put the game off for about a week, so I may be forgetting something. Any help, Toxsyl? Don't be pushed by your problems. Be led by your dreams.

Re: Silent Hill ThreadI really wish Konami would just give silent hill back to some Japanese people who were interested in making a SH game. Every American SH game has been a disappointment to me. I just can't get into them
I almost want SH series to end, maybe something better will come out of grasshopper games, that is where Akiria is now and I have heard that Shadows of the damned was cool, just nor my flavor I think? Oh well I have my HD collection, pretty excited for SH3 in HD! Those who follow rules, have failed to follow their hearts.-Me

Re: Silent Hill ThreadI just discovered that I could drop the bridge to get to Port District. Really wish I had known that before I started over.
I did it. Finally. I finished the game. I got ending "D"; the bad one, I'm guessing. This second time through I chose all the bad choices when prompted. I might try again with the good choices ... later. Don't be pushed by your problems. Be led by your dreams.

Re: Silent Hill ThreadHere's an uplifting review of Downpour that reflects my own thoughts on the game.
Patches! Potentially awesome news. Don't be pushed by your problems. Be led by your dreams.

Re: Silent Hill ThreadRevelations is looking awesome
! October 26!Additionally, I've started working on a Silent Hill story I hope to develop into a game, eventually. The basic premise revolves around a woman who wakes up from a coma in Alchemilla Hospital, suffering from amnesia, and thus nightmares ensue. I'm working out multiple back stories for her, but I'm trying to avoid any that are too "female specific." I'm replaying the original games for inspiration, but some outside input would be much appreciated. ![]() Don't be pushed by your problems. Be led by your dreams.

Re: Silent Hill ThreadIndeed the movie looks like some fun! I am very interested to see how SH3 has been adapted coming off of the first movie. As long as their is Valtiel (hopefully they don't replace him with Pyramid head) and
The part at the end with the baby/god demon being thrown up, then re-eaten!
Then I can't imagine not liking it
How are you going to make the game you are writing the story for? Sound interesting, i would like to hear what you have, I have had ideas for a SH story, if I like what you have maybe we could collaborate as long as it stayed fun! Those who follow rules, have failed to follow their hearts.-Me

Re: Silent Hill ThreadFrom what I've seen, PH is back, though I can't tell how much he will be involved. He really wasn't a big part of the plot in the first one.
As for my own story, I'm just starting on it, really. I have a vague premise and a few (IMHO) good ideas. The plan is to approach this as a gothic mystery, rather than a survival horror. I'm working out multiple back stories for the main character, and figuring out how to link them together through common clues. So, the focus is on the clues and how the player interprets them; based on that, the player can unveil one of several similar, though different possible storylines. I'm disappointed with how linear the official games have become. Once I had the idea of the main character suffering amnesia, that really opened up the possibliities. I'm in the middle of replaying the first game and picking up some intriguing information. Granted all of the games are fairly well documented online, but there are a lot of little things that aren't. Anyway, one arc from the original game that I don't think was ever revisited or really developed was the White Claudia/PTV trafficking. Regarding development, I'm considering Python, but I'm nowhere near that stage just yet. Don't be pushed by your problems. Be led by your dreams.

Re: Silent Hill ThreadIve been looking into just a few of the things I found in the first game. I have to say that the guys from Team Silent are either seriously messed up in the head, or they really did their homework. All of this occult stuff is real, some it is pretty obscure, too.
Really missed that stuff in later games. Don't be pushed by your problems. Be led by your dreams.

Re: Silent Hill ThreadHey LC, in your research, don't forget about the fact that the school from Silent Hill is the same one from Kindergarten Cop.
Proof is here. ![]() X-Ray Scope Acquired! |

Re: Silent Hill ThreadHoly crap!
Well, I don't think I'll have Midwich Elementary in my game; that was too specific to Alessa's/Cheryl's story. Although, I've often wondered if there was a high school in the area. Also, after playing the first game again, I discovered that there is something on the south side of Bradbury St. It looks heavily secured, like a prison, but there has been no identification on any of the maps from any of the games. I wonder what that is. Don't be pushed by your problems. Be led by your dreams.
