Re: Five Favorite Non Metroid GamesIn no particular order (and without Metroid. If I put Metroid there, Prime 2 and Super would take up some spots.)
1. Super Smash Bros. Melee (I played this game for TEN years and it still doesn't bore me) 2. Wind Waker 3. Wario Land 3 (the best 2D platformer on the Gameboy Color IMO) 4. Ys ~The Oath in Felghana~ 5. Portal (haven't played the second one yet, not sure if I will out of laziness) "Cut! There are no second chances for actors that fall to the abyss. Re: Five Favorite Non Metroid GamesI want to try out Felghana. It's on Steam for $15, and I'm a huge fan of Ys: Book 1 and 2 for the TGFX CD.
Also, I don't know who mentioned Metal Storm, but that's one of the better NES games out there. Lots of fun, innovative, and looks beautiful. It's always hard to pick top-five-games, because I like a lot of games in various genres, for different reasons. Favorite shmup/STG: Darius Gaiden, or Rayforce (aka Galactic Attack) Favorite RPG: Final Fantasy V Favorite Platformer: Yoshi's Island or Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong's Quest Favorite Fighting Game: Street Fighter Alpha 2 Favorite Action-Adventure Game: Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening or Resident Evil 4 Honorable Mentions: Guardian Heroes, Sin and Punishment 2: Star Successor, Dragon Force, Metal Slug 3, Chrono Trigger, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, G-Darius, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Half-Life 2, Civilization IV Mega Man II, Mega Man X, Mega Man X4, Resident Evil 1 - 3, and many more. Thanks for playing!

Re: Five Favorite Non Metroid GamesThis is a tough list to make. I think mine would be
Ocarina of Time 3D A Link to the Past Resident Evil 4 Pokemon SoulSilver Xenoblade Chronicles I think those would be mine. If I were able to fit a few more, they'd probably include Kid Icarus: Uprising, Skyward Sword, Assassin's Creed II, and Halo Combat Evolved: Anniversary. Damn. Where would God of War III fit in? I have trouble choosing. "I am tired of being under the weight of greedy men who don't believe in anything."

Re: Five Favorite Non Metroid Games
It is an addictively fun hack-and-slash with fantastic music and kick-ass bosses. Even though it has a simple story and linear gameplay that actually works in its favor instead of hindering it. Also, it has a nice balanced difficulty (and each difficulty rating changes Boss patterns slightly). For $15? Damn, that's a steal. I recommend it heavily. "Cut! Re: Five Favorite Non Metroid GamesWell OiF is actually a remake of Ys 3: Wanderers from Ys.
Which had some pretty darn exceptional tracks back in the day. Falcom has always had top-notch music for their RPGs.

Re: Five Favorite Non Metroid GamesYeah pretty much all of Ys 3 tracks were arranged for OiF. And they are pretty awesome imo.

Re: Five Favorite Non Metroid GamesI actually find this list rather easy to do, seeing how first party Nintendo titles can be included. For the sake of variety, I am only including one game per franchise:
-Portal 2 (My favorite game of all time barely after Metroid Prime) -Skyward Sword (only played two hours of it, but still in love with it) -Super Mario Galaxy (The first one. Didn't think SMG2 was anything too special) -Kid Icarus Uprising -Halo 2 ![]()

Re: Five Favorite Non Metroid GamesJust some of my favorites limited down to five:
-Pokemon HeartGold (Ha--You peoplez and your SoulSilver, Gold gotta represent!) -Okami -Batman Arkham City -Super Mario 64 -Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Re: Five Favorite Non Metroid GamesNintendo (one per franchise):
Majora's Mask Mother 3 Kirby Super Star Super Smash Bros Melee Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword Non-Nintendo: Terraria Cave Story Portal Thief: The Metal Age Red Steel 2 *Note: pretty much all of these are subject to change depending on what mood I'm in at the given moment "Writing is easy. Re: Five Favorite Non Metroid Games
Ho-Oh < Lugia My purchase has been justified. "I am tired of being under the weight of greedy men who don't believe in anything."

Re: Five Favorite Non Metroid GamesMy Lv. 70 Lugia > Your Lv. 40 Lugia. My purchase has been justified. Actually, I usually buy the version that less people seem to have bought. Because, y'know, trades. |
|
Re: Five Favorite Non Metroid Games
I have both versions, but Lugia is my favorite. The default stats and move set he has in SoulSilver are preferable. Plus, my Lugia is now a level 76 if I remember correctly. "I am tired of being under the weight of greedy men who don't believe in anything."
