I went out to pick up a friend as a favor to my housemate, and my GPS sends me out to BFE with almost no gas and a tricky fuel pump. My GPS sent me to the wrong place. So I find my way back, and got low enough on gas that my car wouldn't move. I was about ten feet from being able to pull into a parking lot. Go figure. So I can't move my car out of the street, but I was already in the right lane, there was a turn lane and a left lane, so it wasn't a huge deal, and I was close to home. So I put my hazards on as soon as my car turned into a slug and called my housemate for gas since I didn't make it to the gas station before my car quit. About a minute after I get off the phone, some jackhole flies out of nowhere in the right lane, driving at full speed towards my parked car. Never slowed down, and only swerved at the very last second and smashed the back driver's side corner. And then promptly drove off. Never stopped. Happened so fast I couldn't even process what color his car was in the dark. (Didn't help that the street lamps were dead.) So I didn't get his plates either. What gets me more is that even afterwards, I had to flag people around my car so it wouldn't get hit again. So I got rear-ended by some drunk asshole in a hit and run. I know that it's good that I'm unharmed, the damage to my car is mostly cosmetic and he didn't hit me square on like he almost did. But I am still pissed off and nervy as hell. That car is more than just a car to me. It has a lot of sentimental value. And I didn't deserve this. I drive safely. I keep to the speed limit. I don't drive if I've had any alcohol. I even had a moment of doubt, in that it could have been my fault for not checking to make sure my hazard lights were working beforehand, so maybe he didn't realize my car wasn't moving until the last moment. But no. My hazard lights were working perfectly, even after the hit. Assholes like this guy don't deserve to have a license or be allowed control over a thousands-of-pounds weapon. Assholes like this guy kill people and come out unharmed.

Apparently there is more than one San Jose International Airport, SJC and SJO, bloody booked flights to wrong one tried cancelling them and find out the flights are non-refundable, something that wasn't mentioned when booking. So now I'm £900 out of pocket and had to buy more tickets to the real San Jose at a cost of £730. Not in best of moods.

Fortunately. He hit me really hard at full speed (I'd guess 30-40 mph), so I was actually pretty surprised after the fact that my airbags didn't deploy. I was still in the car. I was lucky that he did swerve at all instead of hitting me square, but that would have forced him to stop and I would hopefully have insurance information to fix my car. But I am grateful my car still runs fine instead of being totaled. I drive a '94 Grand Am. It's been in my family since '98. It has a lot of sentimental value on top of being my only means of transportation and if I lost it, I would not have a way to replace it. I have no money to replace a vehicle. As well, this is the second accident I have ever been in since I started driving about 10 years ago. So no, I'm not injured. But I am shaken and angry. Edit: So, taking a look at it in daylight, it's clear to me that the other car was red.

My day was great, but I can't tell you why. I will say that it had to do with my boyfriend (I didn't get laid...get your minds out of the gutter, I don't care how much more fun you have...besides, if I'd gotten laid, I wouldn't be posting about it, now would I?) and something we both enjoy doing. It happened yesterday, but it made today awesome. @Tianna: Would you like me to dent up said drunk's car for you? I probably can't find him, but if I do, I'll slash his tires, beat the crap out of his fenders with a baseball bat, then drive my cousin's diesel engine dooley over it. Sound good? @Chris: Yet another reason I refuse to get on a plane. The other reason is Executive Decision (Critical Decision in some countries).

As much as I appreciate the sentiment (I think?), Charlie, I'd be much happier seeing his ass pounded by the police and have this on his record. Maybe he'd learn his lesson if he actually had to deal with consequences with the pairing of "This is what you did. Don't do it again." Some actual justice, you know? Make him pay for my repairs, too, whether out of pocket or through insurance (which was something he cheated me out of by not stopping like he's legally obliged to). About flying (which I'm not sure how that came up), I love flying. I grew up around pilots and planes, and while I wouldn't go so far as to become a pilot myself, I love to fly. My grandfather's been a pilot longer than I've been alive and I actually would trust him with my life in a plane while I would forbid him from driving if I had the power to. My dad was even a licensed and employed instructor and has a master's degree in aeronautics and has worked for Lockheed Martin. I find it a liberating experience. Edit: Oh, nevermind, there it is.

See? I'm not so bad. But I was kinda looking forward to some ass-kicking...oh well. I have other enemies to exact my revenge upon (muahahaha!).

As in the film staring Steven Seagal, Haley Barry, Kurt Russell and David Suchet? It wasn't that bad of film...

YES! That was an epic movie, I don't care if it is as old as I am! It also had John Leguizamo (Rat in this movie and Sid in the Ice Age movies, if I recall correctly). Greatest lines in that movie: Cappy (Gabby? I didn't watch the credits haha...): I guess that's why they pay me the big bucks. Rat: Why? Cappy: To save your Rat's ass! Stupid but amusing!

@Hawk's Eye: There ain't no heaven to go to when you die. This life is all we have. That's the main reason I can hate someone, but I could never hurt them. But, think about this. If you died tonight, first of all, we'd all wonder why. Then, I'm sure we'd all think we did something. I'm sure you know how the cycle of grief goes.
Point is, don't take away the only thing you as a human being have. Especially since death is the end; there's nothing after that.

@ The Hawk's Eye: I think I speak for everyone in these forums by saying that we all are upset hearing you even consider the option. You're a great person, so please don't talk like that. @ Charlie: Note: never start that discussion on the internet. Those arguments never end On topic, how my day is going, I have marching band this week 5 days of torture
