Well, most of the Hunters in Metroid Prime Hunters weren't actually bounty hunters. Samus was being paid to collect the 'ultimate weapon' (which may or may not be a 'bounty) but she was also paid to kill Mother Brain in the original and the Metroids in Metroid II, which is much more like a 'bounty hunter' in my opinion.
That's true. There was a space pirate, a religious zealot, a depressed orphan (for lack of a better term), a vigilante, someone's lab rat, and an alien with a floating head. None of them are bounty hunters, but the term "hunters" is given to all six of them. Regardless, bounty hunting by definition is killing someone for money.
You know that guy you called to get rid of the rats in your basement? Samus's job in M2 was basically the same thing, an exterminator, but she had to kill metroids. I guess bounty hunting could include organisms, but wiping out an entire species is more like genocide.
I'd like to see a metroid prime hunter 2, but on the wii or something. I don't like handheld gaming. Since Metroid Prime is dead, why don't they call it Metroid: Hunters? It would also benefit from HD gaming on the Wii U, with the new controller. Three words: Instant Halo killer.

That's true. It's still more like bounty hunting than getting paid to fetch something is. I'd like to see a metroid prime hunter 2, but on the wii or something. I don't like handheld gaming. The reason it's Metroid Prime: Hunters is because it is in the style of the Metroid Prime games. The story doesn't have anything to do with either series in the franchise; Metroid is about the conflict over the metroids for use as bioweapons, Metroid Prime is about the the Metroid Prime's conquest through phazon. Hunters is just Hunters. Why not call it that?

I would have like the so-called "isolation" in the single-player much more if the game didn't lock you into every single big room and force you to fight a boring fucking fight with a pack of annoyingly mobile Guardians with way too much health.
It's like the designers thought "how can we pad this game out even more" and found the worst possible solution.

The repetition was annoying. Flobertroid wrote:I still like hunters only for the fact I have a Dev kit .I also liked how it introduced more hunters.
Dev kit? There's a dev kit for Hunters?

A modded metroid prime hunter would be nice.

Yes. Indeed, and a not so tacky way of gameplay, I really didn't like how it played out....

I would love a creepy environment, better bosses, more abilities, and better music.

I really liked the look of the space environments and the soundtrack was very good, even though it's not amazing on the level that the other Metroid Primes' soundtracks were. The bosses and abilities did need work, though. At least they had interesting weapons.

Rocket jumping? As in, jumping by launching a rocket at your feet? I guess it would come in handy in multiplayer, but they have the anti gravity lift things for that.

Depening on if you look at positives or negatives of a game, your personal score given to it will be affected.
I am mediocre at the Hunters part. If they included a better story, Phazon and such things, I would probably see it as a good game. And let my friends play the other Hunters even though they don't have the game!

I liked Hunters. It is without question inferior to the Prime trilogy, but it's still a decent time dump, and the multiplayer is some of the best in handheld gaming. I also thought they did a good job of adding new Hunters to the franchise that weren't offensively un-Metroid. The designs of the new Hunters worked quite well, in fact, I thought they were much better than the Prime 3 hunters.
And since Other M came out, Hunters is practically a godsend.

The designs were great for the most part. I think Weavel's design was pretty lame but thats just me. Other than that, you're right, I think I actually prefer Hunters over Other M.

Frankly, I'm far more interested in learning more about the MP:H hunters than the ones from Corruption. I would love to see a Hunters 2, handled by a different development team, and with less emphasis on multiplayer, for the 3DS or Wii U. There's a lot of potential.
