I have somethin to ask, why didnt Samus Aran have the ancient Chozo markings on her suit at the end?
Also, what happened to her P.E.D.?
Syluxs ship looked liked it was Corrupted?
After Phaaze blew up, shouldnt Samus have? She still had the P.E.D. on

Truth: The ending of Metroid Prime 3 was one of the lowest moments of the entire Prime trilogy.

The terrible voice acting. The thumbs up. The fact that there's no way Samus could have survived Phaaze's explosion. The idea that you're supposed to believe Samus developed feelings for the 3 deceased hunters after going on one mission with them. Even the animation gave a distinct feeling of sloppiness.

I think it's safe to say Retro Studios had to rush to scrape the ending together, because after beating Corruption earlier this afternoon I was pretty much dumbfounded at how lame it was.

Fortunately, though, I don't really care. Corruption was still a FANTASTIC game and I'm looking forward to 100%-ing it. Metroid is a series where the story isn't all that important to the game, so I'm willing to forgive a lackluster ending.

And I LOVE CORRUPTION! The ending- FAIL!
And whats even more "fun" is that i can find all the items without a map or guide. I have all the item locations in my brain. Imposible? NO!
And, I know she couldnt have escaped Phaaze, Phazon was still around her when she got her P.E.D. back to normal, she would of gotten fatelly corrupted AGAIN, but she probably called her ship tawords the arena.......

Man, when Samus gave that thumbs up, I literally burst out laughing. It's not like she hasn't given a thumbs-up before in the series, but it was so corny and cheesy, like the rest of the game, that i couldn't help love it.

It ALMOST made up for the very underwhelming final boss fight that was AU313!

I forgot to add that; the final boss fight was SUCH a huge waste of potential. It was basically Mother Brain! One of the most notoriously difficult boss fights in the series! But it was reduced to a giant, lame-looking bean stalk with some generic attacks and incredibly anti-climatic music.

I'm still convinced that Retro was forced to rush the whole ending sequence of the game. Everything after the Dark Samus battle was a gigantic letdown. Even Phaaze, while cool, seemed pretty under-realized.

Funny you should mention that, because when I was playing Prime 3 I didn't have the motivation to even beat the Aurora Unit because it was such a boring fight. Dark Samus should have been the last fight IMO. From looking at the comments on the Prime 3 ending, looks like I didn't miss out much.

Because I never owned the game, I borrowed it from the library, and I got to the final boss the day before I had to return it.

I could have easily beat the boss but I had no motivation because it was pretty lackluster, so I just returned the game.

Besides, If I really wanted to see the ending then there is always Youtube (like I did for that 100% ending with the random ship following Samus)

Not just you. When I play a videogame for the first time, I usually commit to beating it at least once. I don't like to rent games since it feels like an incomplete experience to me. I just save my money for the games I really want.

I use GameFly, and always end up buying the good games to add to my collection. If you only ever buy, you end up with a mediocre collection of shit while missing diamond in the rough games you wouldn't normally feel comfortable gambling your money with.

I used to be this way too, but over the past two years I've been noticing that I'm not anymore. I constantly don't finish games now, and stop mid-way through a game simply because I got bored (even good games) and decided to move on to another game.

I'm somewhat similar (though I am finding fun in long games like the old Interplay CRPGs), which is why I've largely moved towards games that are very short in nature. Sometimes even only fifteen minutes long!
^^and let me tell you these are some fifteen fucking awesome minutes of balls-to-the-wall hard gameplay.

Which is kind of why I play the classic Metroid series almost exclusively - they can all be beaten in a few hours' time.
