That's the great thing about games though. They aren't going anywhere, so you can pick them up later for less money.

I would love a Majoras Mask 3D also.

It's weird, I always say I like Majora's Mask more but I end up playing Ocarina a lot more. Probably because Ocarina is so easy to get in to.

I've only played through Majora's Mask to completion 2 times. The reason? The endless repetition. The constant reseting of everything is a neat novelty, but it gets old fast. Especially when the reset happens while you're only halfway through a dungeon.

On the other hand, if you happen to find yourself playing the game while plagued with short-term memory problems, then it turns into something completely different. For instance, imagine that poor Link, upon every playing of the Song of Time, finds himself under Clocktower as though he just got there for the 1st time. No memory of what he had just been doing except for whatever's written in the Bomber's Notebook and whatever items he can find in his pockets. The fairy seems capable of keeping its memory through time, but no one ever said Link could. At least not in this instance. So every time he played that song, he resigned himself to losing all memory of the last 3 days for the greater good of the people. That's my new interpretation anyway.

Still like Ocarina of Time better, though. And really liked a lot of what Skyward Sword had to offer.

My biggest problem with MM was waiting for things to happen, especially during the Anju & Kafei quest.

Also, losing the alien mini-game and having to start the three day cycle over just so you can try it again.

3 days, slowed down or not (you guys do know about the "Slow down time" song, right) was often more than enough time to do a dungeon. None of the 4 dungeons in MM presented an insurmountable challenge in terms of length. The Great Bay and Stone Tower temples come close, but they are more or less fairly concise.

For the most part, I would set aside an entire cycle just to complete a dungeon. That means doing everything I wanted to do in those three days, and then going back, slowing time, getting my money and equipment back, and warping to said dungeon.

MM's time management is not that intense, but it does provide for some tense moments if you're not careful (or if it's your first time playing).

===

I'm about 4 hours into Skyward Sword, and not at the first dungeon yet. I really hope the game stops this tutorial nonsense soon. The whole rescue mission with the kikwis really pissed me off. I have to waste my time finding those little fuckers, just so the elder can tell me to go through some door. Which is the door I was going to go through anyway, if I didn't have to stop and dick around with a pointless escort mission.

I am obviously not far in the game, but if it keeps that type of shit up I will find it harder and harder to justify playing and beating the game.

I swear, sometimes it feels like EAD is rote-copying the Zelda formula without understanding why the formula is so fun to begin. Much like all Disney films made after Disney passed away, you can't just put in more dungeons, or make the overworld bigger, or something like that. it has to have a point.

Termina's overworld was small, but it had enough going on and served its suitable purpose of being a gateway to the four interesting regions of the game. Minish Cap's overworld was jam-packed with fun little side-stuff and hidden caves, giving a great reason to travel off the beaten path. Wind Waker's Great Sea had lots of little secrets hidden, encouraging you to explore the giant ocean before you.

Comparing that with TP's overworld, or the DS Zelda games' overworld, and they seem quite more empty and lifeless (the DS Zelda games were a regression, not even having an overworld, let alone an interesting game world to explore!). I hope SS is different in that regard but I am already suspecting that Skyloft will be the only town, and the game will keep pulling the "do random X to trigger next event" crap on me.

Yep. The Inverted Song of Time was awesome. Never ever ever had to worry about time.

Song of Double Time had its uses too. People above mentioned hating having to wait around for characters, etc. Play the Song of Double Time, skip ahead by half a day.

Btw, this was an interesting performance at the olympics:

Without spoiling too much, all I can say is don't get your hopes up.

Well, I found Skyward Sword to be a way more enjoyable experience than Majora's Mask ever was... And looking at the list of Zelda games I've yet to beat, I think Mask will be the last one.

Well... Maybe second last, because we all know how Adventure of Link goes.

And that's why I think this series is so amazing. Pretty much all of the games have their own loyal fanbase, so they're all excellent in their own ways.

Yeah, my thoughts pretty much, whilst I wouldn't like to see the system return it wasn't as bad as some make out and made the game what it was.

Sadly it happens again,
during an underwater section relying on motion control swimming which was so frustrating...
Yeah I really miss this, though I never thought the hidden areas and such in WW were that great.

Yeah was disappointed with TP's overworld in that regard, some area's looked stunning but yeah was nothing to do besides collecting bugs or carrying hot water across it... I would say SS's overworld is more disappointing as there was a huge lost potential with the floating island theme.

The reason why I like Majora's Mask so much is because, to me, it was the most original Zelda title. It didn't follow the same mold as Link to the Past, it had it's own unique story line and a surprisingly dark tone.

For me, it was a really nice change from having beaten Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess. None of those games were bad, but the game's events were very similar.

Earlier this week, first4figures, makers of the Samus statues and ship models, announced this near masterpiece:

They also have a few other statues from Zelda, not sure if they've been posted, but I don't feel like going through the whole topic looking. Here's one more epic image:

Here's a link to their site, to look at more; On the left sidebar you can click Legend of Zelda for Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask characters, while clicking Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess has characters from... anyone? Class?

The TP ones are of a larger scale than the others so when Zant was released I didn't buy due to lack of space, then they announced the wolf link and midna statue, epona and link statue and now this, urgh, so want them all!!!

I really just want Link with Epona and Ganondorf. I already ordered my Link Figma, I'm hoping against hope that in the future a Ganondorf Figma is made.
