Metroid: Other M -- Impressions!

Yeah I was actually thinking about those changes myself. Most likely we'll be doing "Metroid 2D" and "Metroid 3D" sections.

Wow, through the whole Nintendo press event I was thinking about getting an X-box 360. But then they showed this and my head almost exploded! Guess I have no choice but to hold onto the Wii now!

Call me silly, but after wondering why it's called Metroid: Other M, I saw that someone said "M" probably refers to Malkovich. Someone else said that it might mean, "Other Metroid." Well, then I saw what others did not. You put "M" in front of "Other," and you get "Mother." Mother Brain? Bwahahaha! :cool:

About Armstrong Houston, it'd be interesting to have him in the game. It'd make you wonder where else he'd be in the Metroid Universe while Samus is fighting the baddies in the Metroid Prime series and all this other stuff. I think it could make another story for Metroid V, whenever Nintendo gets around to making that. It's good to see another human Hunter, though, besides Samus Aran.

Oh, and it's Armstrong Houston, guys. His name is based off of Houston Armstrong. This is fiction, not reality. >.<

Also, watching the highest quality vid (from IGN here), the graphics look a lot better than I thought. The suit is so shiny that I had thought it was too plain and lacking in detail, but really it's just... shiny. And yellow.

i'm just thankful that none saw me watching this trailer, cause i looked like a freaking idiot with my grin in my ears.
well however, this looks really interesting, i only hope that they get the controls right, i played ninja gaiden sigma sometime ago, and it's controls sucked balls...
man, i'm so fucking pumped, i think i might do a metroid marathon tomorrow

Also, I think the "other m" thing TOTALLY refers to "mother!" It could mean "other mother brain," or maybe that blond lady at the end is a Samus clone?? That was the first thing I thought, not gonna lie. Or the two are related somehow. Or.... who knows!

Looks like I'm the only one who wasn't impressed by the trailer.

Maybe it's because I'm not into anime or JRPGs, but I wasn't a fan of those flashy finishing moves Samus was pulling off in the the trailer or the way she looked. Nor am I a fan of her voice, I'd prefer to see Samus stay silent throughout the games, but if I had to choose a voice for her it wouldn't be the one I heard in the trailer.

I'll stay open minded if they tell the story through cutscenes only, I'm getting sick of having to go through one linear path after another and wait for some scripted event (something as simple as a conversation) to end before I can play.
