Nightmare was one of my favorite bosses of all time, because, despite his humble 2D form, he was actually the first legitimately scary boss I ever encountered outside of Resident Evil. I still remember shitting myself the first time I blew off his "face".

I still find it really hard to make a choice here.

BOX and Nightmare were for me, the most challenging bosses, while Serris was designed somewhat excellently as well.

Ridley is cool, but really, by the time you get to him, you are too powerful to die in the game.

Nightmare was especially hard for me, or his first form was, because in my first play-through, I'd decided the arm cannon sucked, and I was totally a missile-only zone, because they were so much stronger and I hated charging shots in boss fights in Fusion, because it usually got me killed. So, I thought the way to kill Nightmare was to wait till he comes down really low, morph ball to dodge under the arms, un-morph, jump as he jumps but being very careful not to crash into him, pump missiles into his weak point at the height of the jump, return to morph ball, and roll out.

Needless to say, the fight was ridiculously tense, and challenging without being frustrating, so even when I figured out charged shots weren't affected so much by the gravity, I still do it this way.

Another vote for Nettori, just for the mechanics and the development of the fight, as well as obvious plot elements.

Zazabi is the high jump/spring ball boss that jumps around and floats down on top of you then you have to bomb your way out.

Nettori is the mother brain-like boss battle that you obtain the plasma beam from.

Mother Brain-like? If anything, I thought it looked like a really weird Torizo, and only barely.

Oh wait, you meant the style of the battle.... -_-;

Yeah sorry, I meant that the battle was Mother Brain-like.
Anyway. What is Netorri really? I think it looks like some kind of Torizo but it's attack technique is nothing like the Super Metroid Torizo's. :-?

It sort of looks like a combination of a Torizo and an Arachnus. The X seem to be able to do that, most notably SA-X.

Serris, because

1: It looks awesome
2: It gives you an awesome weapon
3: It's not too easy, but also not too hard.
4: You see some bones. There's a boss door. You enter the boss room, wait for the boss and...

Take away the vines covering it, and you'll be looking at a tourizo.

The simplest explanation would be that BSL had brought some chozo relics (including a dormant tourizo) up from SR388, and that the X got into it and took over its biological components. From there, they used it as a power source to increase the growth of their infected plant forms.

Gotta be Nightmare. Very original boss fight.

I do like the Ridley fight though, I for one like the piercing scream he has in this game.

So Nettori is the Mother Plant. I see. And Zazabi is the thing that looks like a giant baby rattle, lol. When my cousin first saw that boss he said, "Okay... Playskool is not cool." Lol. :D
