Music that reminds you of Metroid:

In case your confused about the subject, I'm talking about music that you might hear on the radio, or on a CD.
This is not Metroid game music or themes, but songs and/or lyrics that remind you of Metroid in some way.

For example, the song you want to share may reflect your view on how Samus sounds like.
The lyrics to the song might make you think of an event that happened in the games, and the music might resemble a Metroid melody somehow.

You don't have to have all these things, just share the song(s) or lyrics that remind you of Metroid.
I created this thread for fun and to share our thoughts, tastes and experiences of music and the way we view it towards Metroid.

Reason(s) why it reminds me of Metroid:
* At the start and the end of the track, the music reminds me of Prime 1.

* The lyrics remind of Samus speaking toward her foes, "Who ate your heart? Your cold inside."
The other part reminds me of Dark Samus replying back you her, "You're not the one I hoped for
I'll see you on the other side" like she entering the dark portal... I love it.

*The last bit of lyrics, "Will I ever see you again
And lie in your heart of hearts?" made me think of Samus as little girl and running up toward the Chozo.
That 'To lie in your heart of hearts' reminds me of going into morfball and rolling into a Chozo statue.
Likewise the 'An empty face and empty bones' was Dark Samus to me. The door that once was open, ... now became locked notifying a boss battle.
That's how I viewed it anyway. xD

I really love this song, it's both haunting and happy with a hint of eerie... I hope you all understand why it reminds me of Metroid.

Reason(s) why it reminds me of Metroid: I was listening to my Cars CD some years ago while playing Super Metroid and this song came up while I was in the room in Brinstar Pink with the two small sidehoppers and one large sidehopper and you have to spin on a single grapple block to get past the wall... and it made me laugh and has reminded me of that ever since.

Ever since it's made some crazy sort of sense to me.

As well, Harmonies by Gyorgy Ligeti does a great job of capturing Metroid atmosphere. The same can also be said of anything by Ligeti; the man knows how to craft an excellent atmosphere from sound.


In both cases, they capture the lonely feeling pretty damn well, without lyrics coming in and saying "oh we're lonely"

Reason(s) why it reminds me of Metroid: The opening reminds me of Metroid. It just has that kind of feeling of space, and the first thing that came to my mind was the scene in Metroid Prime where it's showing Tallon IV and Frigate Orpheon.

Okay if that doesn't sound exactly like Ridley's lair in Super Metroid than I don't know what does.

Also that song by The Cars sounds like it could easily be played over the end credits to the original Metroid.

Reasons why it reminds me of Metroid: Moody, atmospheric, memorable, very unique, (hell, It has a church organ accompanied by an electric guitar,) plus the lyrics completley match up with what Samus must be feeling as she moves through the caverns of an alien world. Oh, and it's done the The Seatbelts. Which automatically makes it AWESOME.

I agree, we need to find a happier song. That song by The Cars worked nicely for me.

I've heard that Cowboy Bebob one before. I love the music. I can see why it reminded you of Samus, Will.

Not a song, exactly, but Robert Frost's Fire and Ice reminds me of Metroid.

Wow. This music is really creepy. It reminds me of 2001 a Space Odyssey.
I can see why it reminds you of Metroid. I can vision this music playing in the background in Planet Phaze. This is so haunting...
