I for one am intrigued and welcome the change. I hope, if true, they pull it off nicely.

Re: Next Zelda game will have flying in itWow, they are making quite a lot of changes to the Zelda universe aren't they?
I like the fact in the article that Eiji is asking the fans to decide what should happen to Link and how he should fly. I myself hope this is a reality. I mean sure we did do a bit of flying in Twilight Princess with the Ooccoos and the Dragon from the fruit mini game, but I think being able to fly non-stop would be great. I didn't really picture this game having this, but the Eiji brought it up. ;/ If it does happen, one thing I'm picturing right now is like an old fashioned flying Machine much like Leonardo Da Vinci's ideas. My reasoning behind this is, the Zelda world is still in the past with older technology and I don't know if their planning on heading it into the future right away. I also think if they created a hang gliding aircraft it might make it smoother to control on the wii. By tilting and wiimote up and down and left and right... so on and so forth. They could also make that girl on the poster have flying powers, who knows. |

Re: Next Zelda game will have flying in itAwesomeness, EI.
--- Personally I hate how they are kinda industrializing Legend of Zelda. Boats, Trains, etc. Boats were ok, but Trains? Come on. |
|
Re: Next Zelda game will have flying in itI don't think they'll give Zelda games planes and helicopters...
A dragon or some other flying beast in the Zelda universe could serve purpose to flying though... |

Re: Next Zelda game will have flying in itjust cause you think it wont have it, doesn't mean it wont happen.
It can go both ways. VGM out... Super Metroid, the most perfect game ever created! Period!

Re: Next Zelda game will have flying in it
It was suggested in the comments that Epona could be some sort of Pegasus. I doubt it, but it would be cool. Unless... Gwonam's carpet. You heard it here first. ![]()

Re: Next Zelda game will have flying in itWhat about hot air ballons? Those things are definatly within Hyrule's technological grasp, having been around since 1783. And that's just the manned version. Some peolpe put lighter than air vehicles as early as 220.

Re: Next Zelda game will have flying in itLeonardo DaVinci style planes, or even crazy fantasy contraptions that can fly are not beyond the Zelda universe, I think.
I would like to see the return of the overworld, though, at least if we're going to have another portable Zelda.

Re: Next Zelda game will have flying in itHow 'bout wings?
Give Link some kind of item that gives him angel wings. Or maybe you can just control whatever kind of bird that carries you around this time. If it's a glider, then it wouldn't be much different than what Link has already done. |

Re: Next Zelda game will have flying in it
this is exactly what I mean. They have a train and a talking boat.... it fits the theme of transportation vehicles. but riding a huge mother-father dragon would be awesome as well.
Ha ha ya give him wings and equip his bow and you get Pit with a green tunic.. lol!! VGM out... Super Metroid, the most perfect game ever created! Period!

Re: Next Zelda game will have flying in itI agree with you there on the Leonardo DaVinci style planes. Those are ok. Didn't they use those in Assassin's Creed 2?
@Squee - Angel Wings eh? Possible, it could work but draining the magic meter the longer you use it. "Farore's Wings"? I could see it being called that. |

Re: Next Zelda game will have flying in itYah, maybe your right.
I was just thinking about it when I thought of that rocket launcher thing in Twilight Princess and the trains in Spirit Tracks, it depends if their heading toward that industrial direction or not. I prefer the old Zelda world myself, but maybe it's because I don't really like a ton of changes. That image Emperor Ing posted almost made me cry. ;w; I love horses let alone Epona --It saddens me that she's going to possibly get neglected. I like the idea of riding a dragon, I can see that happening.
You my friend, are awesome! ![]() |
