And if they don't have GC backward-capatiblilty on the Wii 2. Well , let's hope they have it for Wii games.

Considering that the DS/Lite isn't backwards compatible with the GB/C despite having a GBA slot, I kinda doubt it will. But I will probably keep my Wii (hell I kept my GC, but my brother bought that so I'm not allowed to sell it).

It really isn't that much faster on the GC controller. Once you get used to it, you can change beams and visors with a single motion. I was doing that in Corruption and it worked fine. I don't see why it shouldn't get natural eventually with the other two, as long as you aren't resisting it.

Overall, though, the Wii controls are much, much faster and far more natural than the GC scheme ever was. Looking around is twitchy and immediate, which is much closer to the way your eyes work in real life.

Not only is it faster to switch on the GC, but it is faster to turn around too. I would turn around half way through a turn with GC, but turning was always so slow doing the same thing having to point in the direction I am turning. 1 turn control > 2.

I'm not sure where else to put this, so...

I had beaten MP3 on Normal, but didn't get the Gold Credit for the soldier escort on the Homeworld. So I played through again on Normal (since it would be a bigger pain in the ass on higher levels) and won it, then erased the file thinking it would maintain the Hyper difficulty option.

It didn't. An inconvenience, but I don't mind (although I will have to rescan everything). My question is this: If I play on Veteran from the get-go, will I get credit for both that and Normal levels, or just Veteran?
:metroid: = Ultimate Warrior
8) = Ultimate Warrior
Therefore, 8) = :metroid:

Now you know why they call it Metroid.

That's a good question, my assumption would be that it would mark the previous difficulties as completed since you are doing it on a harder mode.

anyone know the answer, i'd like to know myself :P

as far as credits and friend vouchers go, there's no difference
ie: if you get them in Normal, you don't get them in Veteran and vice versa (so you might as well just get them over and done with in Normal)
but this also makes it so that if you missed one or more in Normal and you have already started playing Veteran, you can pick the ones you missed and it's like you never missed them in the first place

though after playing through MP1 on MPT, I don't think that you get more credits for playing through Hypermode in MP1 or 2 unlike in MP3 :(

I wasn't talking about CREDITS. I'm talking about those little dots on the save files that represent the completed difficulties.

If I clear Veteran first, do I get two dots for Veteran and Normal completion, or just one dot for Veteran?

Bought Trilogy last week and just finished Prime 1 & 2. I've gotta say I think there's more pros than cons about playing the Trilogy versus playing the gamecube versions of the first two games.

I kinda miss the title screens and Prime 1 connectivity extras that you don't get with trilogy. :'(

Am I crazy or did the fmv sequences seem low-definition ? Like they trimmed the fat to save on memory to squeeze all 3 games on one disc. But the picture quality was the same during gameplay and that's whats important. O_O

Prime 2 was definitely easier. Was it the Wii control or did they soften it a little ? :-?

My surround sound is down. Does anybody use surround and is it good for Prime 1 & 2?

Main question. Which versions will I play ? I'm probably going to stick with trilogy. LOVE HAVING ALL 3 ON ONE WII DISC z:D . Love getting all those reward coins. The beam switching kinda sticks without those GC controls but it's the spring ball on the Wii control that is a MUST-HAVE. In all the Prime games I love whizzing around in morphball and having to bombjump was a buzzkill.

I was under the impression that the Prime 1 connectivity extras are all still there, but unlocked via the credit system now. Certainly the Fusion Suit is still there, cause I saw that option in the menu.

As for Prime 2, yes, some changes were made difficulty-wise for the Trilogy release. Primarily Boost Guardian, IIRC, but of course a lot of sections in MP1 and 2 that were previously hard are a bit easier just by virtue of the new control scheme alone.

Plus, the spring ball feature ruins some bomb jumping puzzles, but it's not really that big a deal.

The spring ball definitely made the Spider Ball Guardian boss fight easier in MP2.

Then again, I never really considered that boss to be the highlight of the game so no real loss to me.

I hate that boss. To beat him I had to forget scanning him. >:(

Any way I love the release. I was going to get the first two prime games anyway but the Trilogy pack made me wait. I am glad I did. They are nicely done games and the wii controls makes it all the more fun.

I think, I am just as shocked as most people are when they find out Samus is girl.

Though the case and the artwork that come with it sound awesome, I honestly have no desire whatsoever to pick this up. I've long since mastered the gamecube controls, and have beaten Prime 1 on hard without dying, and got all the way to the last form of Dark Samus on hard before she killed me (I was pissed!). Plus I felt having the Wii controls for all games made Prime 3 less unique. Also, I think the graphics look worse (yeah I know they are technically superior). Taking away the menu music/screens was complete fail... Whoever made that decision should be fed to Kraid! Making Echoes easier was also fail.

But I am happy that people who had never played these games who weren't interested in the gamecube versions or had never even heard of Metroid got to experience three of the best games ever.
