Word is Japan is getting Other M this summer which means we will probably see it around the same time if not before.

I'd like to reiterate from the recent update of the news post that the Japanese release date is expected Summer 2010. I'm going to go on a limb and say that it will be a late August release in the US. MPT came out on the 27th, MP3 on the 24th, and Super Mario Sunshine and F-Zero GX both came out on the 26th. Games tend to come out on a Thursday, and this August 26 is a Thursday - so I think it will come out on that date

In any event, the game WILL come out this year - there's no way it can get delayed with this much difference in time. I just hope they don't spend months and months doing localization.

Now then - is anyone here going to E3?

I assume they are going to release actual game footage before E3. It seems unwise to finally unleash gameplay videos that close to the game's release window without generating the time to create hype and anticipation.

I don't really go to conventions like E3 or any other. But lets keep our fingers crossed that Other M won't suck. I am starting to doubt it, because I can imagine so many things that could go wrong.

If the game is as dialogue-heavy as it looks like it's going to be, they may be spending a while on localization, unless they work on that stuff simultaneously.

I couldn't have said it better myself. On another note, isn't this the first metroid game since the original to come out in Japan first? (Not counting the New Play Contol versions)

Though I was vaguely optimistic about the game being released this year, now that I have seen the site/realized the summer release date for Japan, I am that much happier and excited.

As was mentioned, I doubt the Japs can have the game for too long before the US.
As for Europe...

Well it is possible they'll delay the game, Nintendo seems to have a track record for doing so, but if they delay it to make the game better instead of marketing reasons. I'm all for it. I'd rather a game be delayed and great, rather than rushed and unpolished because of a set date.

We're still assuming it'll be out in Japan before the US, but it may very well release simultaneously or even here before Japan. I think localization time will probably be trivial, CapCom's speculation is sound, and an August release date is reasonable for both territories.

Well Nintendo is having some kind of event on the 24th of this month maybe they'll announce it that day. They could be unpredictable sometimes, maybe the game is closer to release than we think.
