Re: Power Suit mechanics: what is and what is not possibleIt was sarcasm. Damn where is EI to clear this up?

Re: Power Suit mechanics: what is and what is not possible.............
It's back off topic again. I find this thread interesting (in a weird sciency way), so could we please get back to the plans? Still to complete:
Metroid Prime 2: disk is broken... Metroid Prime Hunters: Bored, but almost done Metroid prime corruption: In progress Super Metroid: Started |

Re: Power Suit mechanics: what is and what is not possibleI'm reviving this thread. I'm working on some theories of my own, but I need to do some more research. I believe much of Samus Aran's abilities are entirely plausible.
There have been some serious advancements in technology and materials. I want to hear some new theories. ![]() Don't be pushed by your problems. Be led by your dreams.

Re: Power Suit mechanics: what is and what is not possibleI may have said this before but the key stumbling block for a power suit (and just about every vehicle and weapon in existence) is the power source.
It's why airplanes weren't invented untill the 20th century. A light and powerful enough engine wasn't available beforehand. It's the same reason we don't have jetpacks and hand lasers right now. The mechanisms are no problem, but a strong and small enough power source isn't available. |

Re: Power Suit mechanics: what is and what is not possible
Right. In Samus' case, its life energy. Though some of her suit's abilities are beyond our current technological understanding even on a mechanical level (morph ball, space jump, etc). |

Re: Power Suit mechanics: what is and what is not possibleSo unless somebody miraculously makes a crazy ass battery that can power a suit, on board computers, weapons systems, not to mention a ton of other stuff, it won't be happening for awhile.

Re: Power Suit mechanics: what is and what is not possibleI just read the 1st page and I'm shocked that Speed Booster and Screw Attack are possible.
Dangerous of course, but possible--? Wow... Can someone please explain to me how we could do such maneuvers? |

Re: Power Suit mechanics: what is and what is not possibleYeah, I'd actually like to know too!

Re: Power Suit mechanics: what is and what is not possibleThe computer tech is no problem. Pretty soon they will be as compact as the laws of physics allow. As in denser than the human brain kind of thing.

Re: Power Suit mechanics: what is and what is not possible
I wrote a short little story-like thing on precisely this. /plug viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2210&start=0

Re: Power Suit mechanics: what is and what is not possibleThat's so cool! I want it too!

Re: Power Suit mechanics: what is and what is not possibleI think holding 125 missiles in one arm size cannon is impossible
I didn't break it, I just un-fixed it

Re: Power Suit mechanics: what is and what is not possible
Not if the missiles are the size of bullets, which might be the case. |

Re: Power Suit mechanics: what is and what is not possible
Micro-missiles. Just what I was thinking. Explosive rounds exist; seems a simple feat to add self propulsion. Don't be pushed by your problems. Be led by your dreams.
