There has been an update.

Valve will have a Press Conference on the first day I believe.

With all of the Steam conversion to Mac and the updates to Half Life 2 and Half Life 2 Episode 1. We might actually be hearing about Half-Life 2 Episode 3. Just saying, the spreading out to Mac users might be to help on the release of the next Half Life game.

So EI we might hear about Episode 3 for once.

Hopefully, surprise Half Life 2: Episode 3. But probably not.

I don't know. It has already been confirmed that Episode 3 won't be released this year.

But that doesn't mean it won't be announced this year. The press conference is like an hour long. Gabe Newell can't spend a whole hour (or more) talking about Portal 2 and Steam for Mac.

More info about Valve's Press Conference has come. Valve sent an email out. Valve loves doing these types of things. Remember when they updated the files of Portal 1 and people went to investigate. It lead to the hint that Portal 2 was on the way.

PS: The surprising record scratch is also not the surprise.

Valve has recently put out a Beta for Counter-Strike Source. Updating it to the Orange Box engine and adding more content. The subject at hand could be the next Counter-Strike. Or the surprise could be, of course, Episode 3.

Lets hope its the latter.
