From what I've seen it's just flying in a straight path shooting shit that flys at you, and then actually running around and killing stuff on ground.

The first time I watched the trailer I was thinking the same thing, but after watching it again and paying more attention, it looks more like you have full control of your movement, it just looks kind of rail shootery in the trailer.

It looks like you could move up, down, left and right, but your always moving in a single path, like Sin and Punishment or whatever.

At the very least, it looks like you have free control while on the ground.

Does anybody know if there's a demo on the show floor? If so, maybe we could find impressions or something and clear this up. It's hard to know for sure just by looking at the trailer.

How about this ... Majora is essentially a sequel to Ocarina, right? Maybe we play through Ocarina and after beating Ganon and everything goes back to normal, yada yada, then there is a new cutscene linking Ocarina to Majora and now Majora is unlocked.

That would be spectacular, but why put them on the same cartridge when you can make more money by selling two separate remakes? If it was a simple port I could see it happening, but they're at least changing the graphics, so I doubt we'll see that.

Why not? They've done it before. In fact they even included the original two Legend of Zelda games, also.

So, it looks like it has on-rails shooter elements interspersed in a 3D action-adventure game.

So in other words, not an on-rail shooter.

Those compilations were straight ports though. (with the exception of the different controls and slight balancing done in the Metroid Prime Trilogy) OoT 3D is a complete graphical overhaul, and it may very well have other changes as well.

I dunno, they could put them together on one cartridge, but I'm sure they would make a lot more money if they sold them separately, and I'm sure they know that.

Though they're not the final model, the 3DSes at E3 do not have GameBoy slots, and I highly doubt Nintendo will be adding them back in. The most we might get would be a Virtual Console for GameBoy games.
