Before you take shots, be sure to turn visor and helmet opacity down to 0. Try to keep the arm cannon out of the shot as well.

I got MP3:C running on Dolphin with my feeble Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz, 2GB RAM, GeForce 8700M GT Card XPS Dell Laptop, so I'm sure that's enough to run Prime 1.

IE-- It might not come out as well but would it also be 'ok' if we find a Prime video on youtube or another site and screencap the enemies there? Or should it only be with the Dolphin Emu?

Metroid Prime takes a hell of a lot of CPU to run. I have an Intel Core 2.13 GHz. So to get close to good FPS I have to turn everything off. Even then I only get 35 FPS, which still sucks. So I am going to try to overclock so I can atleast get 50 FPS.

I'm assuming and videos you find on YT are not going to be high enough quality to even bother. You're probably just going to get blurry screencaps. Dolphin would probably be the best way to go, or, I have yet to see a screenshot from a digital camera off of a television...

Yeah, best not use videos off YT... even if they're at 720p or whatnot.

Thanks, I'll get that done soon as I can. I'm glad the others are offering their help too because I consider myself a last resort (really, I'm not offended!). Arm cannon oughta be an interesting thing to mess with. I'm resorceful though, and I'm sure I'll think of something. ;)

Oh and another thing, my 12.1 megapixel camera makes incredibly huge images (4,000 x 3,000 pixels) this is important to ask because Windows XP (unless you got a higher system like windows 7 or a great video card on your XP) is too old so it cannot even open the file. How much do you want me to shrink them before I send the samples to you via e-mail? BTW I found out how to exclude the arm cannon from the shots and it still came out VERY nice.

I took a sample screenshot. Is the quality acceptable? 853 x 480 is about as high as I can go with my capture card. Let me know how the arm cannon placement is also.

Saria, thanks for trying. I'm going to be honest with you: the quality is slightly less than I would prefer.
It's difficult to make out the Parasite. Think of it this way: the image of the creature you are looking at will be used as a reference to what [enemy of choice] would look like if you were to select it from a hypothetical database of sorts. The arm cannon is perfectly fine, I'll be editing it out in most of these shots anyway. Since the Parasites are kinda small and run away when you approach them, you might want to try your luck at getting a larger enemy.

I saw the specs for your lappy, IE. Do you have Garry's Mod? I know this is Prime 3 for the most part, but still, you could use this for a Corruption section, right?

Again, I know it's almost entirely Corruption, but still.
At the least, I found a Zoomer...

@The Illusion: Thanks for trying. Fortunately, MP3's logbook allows you to zoom up on and rotate around every character and enemy you scan in the game. So taking shots of those will be easy, and the pictures you've put there aren't necessary (but still a nice reference, nevertheless.). MP1 doesn't give us that privilege, all we get is those logbook panels, so that's why taking screenshots is the only way. (for now...)

I know there was someone who developed a Prime model ripper (ripper, ha, get it??? -_-;) But I don't know if they ever released it publicly... >_< Maybe if I get in touch with them somehow, I can relay my cause and they can give it to me? Who knows... It's clear the zoomer and geemer models were ripped from MP1, but how they did it, or what they used is beyond me.

Yes. And i just got better ones in the past few hours. ;)
I noticed the Dolphin emulator runs faster when I turn off one of my processor cores.
I'm still researching how to make it run near-perfectly.

Here's some of the shots I took. This is what I would like people to get close to as far as maching in terms of overall quality.

Yeah I seem to get about somewhere in the range of 50-70% depending on how much is going on. There's something wrong with my Iso, though, as Samus and other models are completely fucked up (the verts on the models look out of place) like so:

Wait, 50-70% or 50-70 FPS? Around 50-80 is normal I think.
